🆕 blog! “The Fediverse of Things”
One of the most frustrating things in modern technology is the effort spent trying to artificially restrict abundance. Take, for example, this tale from museum-worker Aaron Cope: I was out with a friend who worked for Twitter and I asked them whether it would be possible for the museum to “create 200,000 Twitter accounts, one […]

wahey!
thank you to @stevefaeembra for the title, and thank you to @danielaKay for telling me about The Glitch Gallery!
@danielaKay @stevefaeembra that's cool! and that website is delightful. maybe indeed! i'll put a link here if i am so lucky.
@stevefaeembra @danielaKay haha! i am forever changed :P this data is from Lothian Buses themselves. it comes in JSON form via https://tfe-opendata.readme.io/docs/services - i've since updated my script with a unique ID for each route within each service so the straight lines are gone (but admittedly i like what they added in the image above!)
@stevefaeembra @danielaKay yup, spot on @stevefaeembra! the glitches are because i haven't don't have a single field to uniquely identify each route right now. i used "Destination" so, "Royal Infirmary" for example, has 6 bus services combined into a single line. that causes 5 straight lines that shouldn't be there. the brighter the line the more bus routes traverse that particular street, so a kind of traffic density i suppose?
@walruslifestyle i would be wrong if i said that wasn't right!
not what i was aiming for, but satisfying nevertheless
would anyone like to venture a guess as to what they're looking at?
