A few weeks ago, the university trails had their first bear sighting since IDK when. I think it may have reduced the number of users because it's rare to see no one while we're out there.

This meal is about Alaskan as they come. The salad greens are from my neighbor (.6 miles away). The mushroom meat rolls have caribou meat from last year's hunt and mushrooms from the Boreal Mushroom Farm (1 mile away). About the only store bought items were the puff pastry, mustard and shallot in the roll, and salad dressing. Maybe someday, I'll learn to make puff pastry...when I retire.

@binford2k Actually, that's me. We have an Arctic Triathlon Series that that starts in May and goes to July. It's a Sprint, Olympic, and Half distance in that order. It super cool because you end up really neat places to compete.

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, I used to love 87 degree weather. Now it takes 2 dogs and a good friend to convince me to hike in the blazing sun on a hilly climb. We entertained a highly motivated tourist who joined us early in our walk and our way out, we found a #FNSBtrails Challenge sign, so bonus for us!

I started work on my first upcycle clothing project. Combining denim from discarded jeans with fabric from my scrap bin, these patchwork panels will be cut and sewn into a new pair of pants. I have 3 panels made and part of another complete. These are the legs of the pants. This is the first time I'm designing the patchwork from scratch. I'm not the most detailed person, so the design is random vs. symmetrical. Hopefully, they turn out!
