@mistersql I get why you asked what you would pay for a PhD following you around answering your questions - AI is becoming that. Do you think Wikipedia will struggle in the future because AI may replace it? At least as the user interface people use to look stuff up. If it does, then a powerful source for AI to scrape would be gone? Same for a million other sources? How can we have great user driven data sources in the future if everyone insists on AI as their primary UI? I'm worrying about this today.

Always amused me when they went from fixed-height thumb to height based on percent of content displayed - because with a giant document like a whole book, the thumb gets reeeeealy small, you almost can't grab it to slide it up and down! Technology never really solved every aspect of how to do that right for all content. (Then infinite-scroll ruined everything.)

@plexus that is such a great idea. Some cities have tool libraries, to let locals borrow tools. We need more of this sort of thing.

Every town should have a cable depot where everyone brings the cables they aren't using and they sort, test, and store them, and when you need some random cable you simply drop by the cable depot to pick it up. And if they don't have it they'll request it from the next town over, like inter library loans.

My #motto in this world is #EverythingToEveryone which is based on #sharing and #abundance principles. Why shouldn't everyone be allowed to know #everything, see everything, do everything? Thought of the day: #Algorithm based #SocialMedia works completely backwards: instead of showing you what you already searched for or are interested in, it should show you something new - something you haven't seen yet - haven't thought about yet - expand your world. Shopping cart sites should show you things you haven't thought about buying before, rather than what you already just bought and now no longer need. "Did you know this existed?" No, I didn't; I learned something today.

#Podcasts I like about #Movies and #Streaming #TV: The Filmcast (formerly Slash Film Cast), and those loveable goofballs at The Flop House. These 2 podcasts would seem to imply that three people talking about stuff works the best. For the #ElectricCars niche I like Electrek (longer form) and QuickCharge (short news blurbs) by the same people. For #productivity I like GTD, and Change Your Game with GTD. I'm subscribed to 49 podcasts; way more than I could possibly listen to in any given week.

With #Podcasts, you really have to find the ones in your niche. What is your #niche? Your #hobby? Your #passion? Your #talent? What extremely detailed thing(s) are you interested in, that not a lot of other people like? There's a lot of bad podcasts out there - find the ones with people who think the way you do. That makes all the difference.
