@Liberux
After reading the interview and after two weeks debating with myself, I just ordered a medium specced version. 🥳
I really hope the crowdfunding will succeed, but I have my doubts...

You asked for more flexibility — we listened.
Thanks to the Nexx’s modular design, we’re launching a version with:

@pericus @dubstar_04 @Liberux @mobian @gnome What about KDE's Plasma Mobile? Any plans to support and promote that as well?

@Liberux that's still a fantastic spec. I personally would like to see you working with @mobian and Upstream @gnome. Knowing that purchasing the device benefits the community and can be supported longterm is very appealing.

@Liberux 32 GB of RAM seems overkill for a phone anyway. My postmarketOS Chromebook has 8 GB of RAM, which is perfectly adequate for multitasking with ZRAM enabled. 16 GB will be great.

Personally, the Liberux Nexx looks way too large for me as a phone. My current Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact and previous Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime are already the maximum size I feel comfortable with (both width and height).
Still very cool to see another player stepping up onto the Linux phone stage.

@Liberux
Will it be upgradeable? 5G is a must for future proofing, but LTE would be fine for now

@Liberux I'd really love the current model, but that's laptop level money. Still, I want to help back this, though I wish you didn't use Indiegogo, maybe @crowdsupply instead.

Curiously missing is even a rough estimate for release, which may put off backers.

@Liberux I think this is a great step in the right direction. What about offering the phone as a kit that the customer could assemble themselves? It would save on assembly costs at the factory and could lower the price further. Plus everyone loves reparable devices.

@Liberux The new specs are really impressive. In my opinion, the features are more than enough for most users. If you could incorporate this into your crowdfunding campaign, it might definitely persuade some to join in. I see a lot of potential there. 👍

@Liberux That sounds like a good idea, IMHO a sub-1000 € version would definitely boost the sales

@Sh4d0w_H34rt @Liberux @crowdsupply We are committed to delivering the phone in July 2026, as stated on our Indiegogo page (in the product listings), although we will do everything we can to deliver it sooner. Our commitment is to invest every last cent of the crowdfunding into software and hardware development.

@bart @dubstar_04 @Liberux @mobian @gnome we love Plasma, just we had to choose one environment for the phone and gnome shell mobile was the one that fitted better with our idea. Our resources are limited. But with the help of the community I am sure we will be able to support KDE Plasma.

@dubstar_04 @Liberux @mobian @gnome Yes! One of our most important goals is to get Jonas Dressler gnome shell mobile into upstream gnome.
We want this product to be from the community to the community

@adingbatponder @Liberux of course if there is a problem with the device, it will be fixed or a new device will be sent to the customer.

📢 Hello, community.
We've received a lot of feedback on the Liberux NEXX — thank you for your honest input.

Thanks to Ernesto at Ecaman and his modular design (with replaceable eMMC, modem, and RAM), we're working on a more affordable version.

💡 After talking with our suppliers, we could offer an entry-level version with these specs, while still keeping the current version:

🔧 Specs:
· LTE
· 128 GB eMMC
· 16 GB RAM
💶 Price: €890

We’d love to hear your thoughts on this idea! 💬
