What country do Britains think is the biggest threat to security... well no real surprise that everyone see's Putin's Russia as the number one international security problem...

But, in a dramatic shift in perception those seeing the USA as a threat have doubled from 36% to 72% of people quizzed for the most recent British Social Attitudes survey... and this was before the events of the last tow weeks.

Yup, more & more people see the US as a Rogue Nation.

#politics #InternationalRelations

Chart: Most Britons view the US as a threat to world peace
% of UK public saying country is 'very' or 'quite' serious threat to world peace in the next 10 years

Shows Russia stable at 90%, while the US has risen from 36% to 72%. Iran, Israel, North Korea, China & Saudi Arabia have all seen drops in the level of perceived threat.

A scene of modern Britain

A scene of modern Britain played out the rail replacement bus service in
Newport yesterday. A woman
wearing a niqab was chatting to her son in another language. After five minutes, a man suddenly snapped: “If you're in the UK, you should speak English.” At this, another passenger turned round and explained: “We're in Wales. And she's speaking Welsh.”

Boo-hooo! I can't enrich myself at the expense of the public because the big bad government and its regulations don't let me.

@falcennial Yes. Unfortunately, there are many adults that hold on to many such fallacies. Which would not be such a problem if they went... "Oh, of course, my bad." when they're pointed out.

We're all guilty of faulty thinking, but that's not an issue if we're happy to continually examine our thinking and correct as necessary.

I've changed my understanding of many concepts and opinions over time (and still do) when faced with new information / new perspectives.

Fascists like Mace know we are wired to accept premises, and so they construct questions in such a way as to win the venue. This is true *even if we disagree* with the person who is offering the proposition. We accept the frame, then we argue the contrary position.

But first we accept the frame.
