Installed Apple iCloud for Windows on a new Windows 11 Pro laptop. Sign in works. Then iCloud seems stuck (Drive, Photos). Did the usual uninstall/reinstall dance multiple times. None of it helped. Anyone experienced the same and found a solution?

@BenBen Not surprising, though. Apple is a for-profit tech giant. The DMA (like the dreaded cookie banner regulation) has been crafted in a way that it addresses non existing problems. Can't blame Apple for that, no matter how much one might hate big tech.

Free iOs apps with an EU installed base > 1 million and no commercial background (as in Free Software) can't realistically move to alternative app marketplaces. The commercial terms of Apples response to the #DMA would immediately bankrupt the makers. But then again: If you've been using Apples free distribution channel for years without paying for it, why move to a potentially worse alternative anyway?

@makzr @gruber @leoncowle @stroughtonsmith I disagree with the "will of the European people" part. The DMA - like many other Internet related regulations - tried to solve the wrong problem. In a poor way.
