@kwf Ooooh, I know this one. It is the "F".
As in "I have no F in scents" right?
The official account for RC2014, a Z80 based retro computer kit. UK based with global shipping.
Posts probably include retro computing or hobby electronics related content but may include other cool stuff.

@InstantArcade Over here they just string the fibre up to the nearest telephone pole, just as it would have been done with copper cables. From zero to flowing data was about 2 hours.
@zxm Even quicker than reading your toot and replying ;-)
Today was broadband changeover today, and I now have fibre to the house. Yay! And despite some of the horror stories I had heard about OpenReach, the engineer I had was absolutely fantastic and did a thoroughly professional job.
I now need to find a use for the extra 375mbps I can download!
Speaking of the - now abandoned - #MagickaBBS: I've preserved the last "known to compile and run" version of the code on my #Codeberg because I really like this software and always thought it was a pity that the project was halted.
I've also been able to preserve some of the original documentation for the software, although I can *not* guarantee that it will match the checked in codebase in any way. Yet, I still think it's useful.
@drlucyrogers I'll be there too. See you at Left Lion!
As somebody that has hand assembled Intel Hex files, I wish this video had been available years ago https://youtu.be/7gcTbRKwfsw
@electron_greg Even if you have got exclusive access to the trade counter, pens will still go missing. Trust me!

@electron_greg The pens need to be on metal strings to stop people nicking them!
Itβs Kill the Bit Day!
Kill the Bit, a game that was published on this day in 1975, is a unique game that runs on an Altair 8800 computer using only its switches and LEDs.
Ingeniously, the game exploits the way the system displays addresses to create a challenge where players must toggle a switch at the precise moment to extinguish a moving pattern of lights, one by one.
If you have an Altair or a clone, letβs see it in action as it runs Kill the Bit!
@edbrindley Only the plain ones with just the queens head on them. Commemorative ones are still valid.
about to build this electronic name badge, which is slightly magic in that it can display a 32 character scrolling message but has no external RAM at all.
It uses most of the CDP1802 processor's 16 registers for storage. These 1902 types, what will they come up with next?
