@vik I favor pretty high tension so I'm rough on picks, but I guess being able to run off more whenever would make that matter a *lot* less
@vik oooh! do you temper them at all?
@atax1a what the fuck
Sure, we've all screwed up, but have you ever "inadvertently disclosed to the NANOG mailing list the TLS interception your telco partner was planning" screwed up?
@jiji it's only a bit extra ;3
Since it's politically relevant again, here's some thoughts on free public transit, based on my real world experience with it as a daily transit rider, based on the two summers post covid when Denver RTD made transit free for everyone.
I should preface by saying that transit here is always free for me, because my employer gives me a free transit pass. So the transit being free didn't affect my riding habits, just my observations of other riders.
@jiji have you seen our setup?
This is a core system app interrupting you, promoting a sale by a movie-ticketing company, to push you to go see the platform vendor’s new movie.
Why not just pop up random ads all the time, always creating new channels that everyone’s opted-into by default so you can never keep up with opting out of them all?
Oh wait, that’s already what happens.
Apple’s as bad as everyone else. They don’t respect their customers — we’re fodder.
They truly have no standards anymore.

@aurynn it should definitely have *bash* in the name tho right?
@jiji it's a ridiculous thing but I do enjoy our stagg ekg pro, it *is* a bit slow to come to temp compared to the cheap kettle partner uses for tea tho, on the plus side the balance is pretty for pouring
Rubin finding a bunch of new Near Earth Asteroids is going to be a fun time. For some of them it takes less delta-v to land on an asteroid far from earth than it does to land on the moon. Would be great to see a $20M all-in asteroid survey and lander mission, basically CAPSTONE but deeper space.
Notifications of possible future collisions are going to increase.

@vik yeah I am excited by all the lift potentially coming online, especially heavy like blue. little disappointed in some of the science recently, the study that suggested 2000 launches a yeah would cause major ozone layer problems... look deeper and it's based on the assumption of lots of solid boosters and hypergols plus a small amount of kerolox, while pretty much the entire planet is moving to methalox or (occasionally methalox + hydrolox)
@demize I am so sorry and maaaaybe congrats
@badkeys iirc most of the online "validation" tools freak out with PKCS last I tried(which was unfortunately long ago)
