Hey fediverse! Is anyone of you interested in #scheme or #lisp (or even #programming in general)?
I’m starting to work on the manual of CHICKEN Scheme’s upcoming major release.
Do you have anything you would love to see in a manual or tutorial introduction? Any input in welcome!
(boost if you want to help a cool open-source project 😇)
@lattera Found in article footer: "unzip pocorgtfo17.pdf libhijack.zip" what tha? so that's why the pdf file is so large. heh. interesting distro method
In `git merge foo` the current branch is the target (and foo is the source). In `git rebase foo` the current branch is the source (and foo the target). I find this a bit confusing and difficult to remember. (Or, is there a better way to think about this?) #git

every time I search for software and find out that it's hosted at #sourceforge, i just keep searching for an alternative. ah, sourceforge, the geocities of software hosting/distribution!
Now's a good weekend to migrate off of #lastpass to #pass or #gopass and friends. Thanks, Aaron @qbit ! https://deftly.net/posts/2017-12-29-passing-off-the-hard-parts.html #password-store #passwordstore
Python is (nearly) ubiquitous, easy to learn, ... but sooo boring and not fun to code/build in. Saying this as I read a book chock-full of python code examples. OT-one-H, I grok stuff straightaway; OTOH I'm not motivated to code in it *at all*.
@nydel @clarkenciel@cybre.space FORMAT: Sometimes it’s fun learning new languages. :D
@tomharris @body melisma is correct. also wanted to add that in the states we say “run” or “vocal run” to mean the same thing.
@canadianbryan @phessler nice interview! I dug the Henning The Magician disappearing act too. :D
@ckeen then after that `ifconfig interface down` then `dhclient interface` and that's gets me a lease (`interface` is your wireless interface of course.) sorry if you already knew all that.
@ckeen on my obsd client i don't use wpa_supplicant, i just jack in all that info manually at the shell prompt via ifconfig, e.g.: ifconfig interface nwid network-id wpakey password.
@clarkenciel@cybre.space inorite. there was a dude on cll that once passed off some obscure code to a n00b that would have essentially `rm -fr /`ed n00b's machine, as a lesson (i guess to not blindly cut and paste code). only one or two regulars on cll chastised him for that; most others agreed or were silent. :/
if you thought "yacc" sounds like someone was vomiting something, then "byacc" sounds like it even more! :)
