Because #ScienceIsInternational, it means that #LabSnacksAreInternational. Some maple syrup treats from Quebec on the menu for today…

James and Selena's paper is out in JCB!
We present a structural model of the interaction between TACC3 and ch-TOG. Then we discover Affimers that can inhibit this interaction. Expression of the Affimers in cells uncovered a new role for TACC3-ch-TOG in maintaining the pericentriolar material during mitosis.
Final day in the lab for Natalia. She brought in some Brazilian treats…
Paper accepted! 🎉 Details to follow…
Today's CMCB Lab Talk is from our lab and will be given by.... Steve 😮
"Structural characterisation and inhibition of the interaction between ch-TOG and TACC3”
A1.51 at 1pm
Paper accepted!! What a great way to start the day.
And she's out! @MAFesenko passing with minor corrections 🎉 #PhDone
Mary is giving her pre-viva talk
We made a lab fun page!
Come for pictures of scientists waiting for food in restaurants, stay for the bespoke album-inspired lab art!
Lab social: on Friday we went to Magic Wingdom and then on to an Escape Room. We made it out!
Today we had our LEAF certification inspection. LEAF is a standard set by UCL to improve the #sustainability and #efficiency of the #laboratory. A big thank you to Gabrielle Larocque, our lab green champion, who spearheaded our application. Posting now, because apparently it will take a while for our certification to come through!
We recently welcomed Anneline Moret to our lab. She will study for her PhD at Warwick and at CY Paris Cergy University.
Meet Anneline here:
Building our new website…
…time for another cuppa.
And now for some new News!
This week we welcomed Anneline Moret to our lab. Anneline is a EUTOPIA co-tutelle student between our lab and Paris Cergy University. She'll be working on engineered membrane traffic of integrin in a cancer context.
We said farewell to Laura Downie who moved to a postdoc position at KCL/Crick. Laura joined our lab in 2018 completing her PhD and a short postdoc with us.
Also in October, Sahil defended his PhD in Paris.
Sahil was a EUTOPIA co-Tutelle student so-supervised by Steve and Ambroise Lambert & Olivier Gallet in CY Cergy Paris University.
Thesis title: “Advanced Tools for rapid targeted tuning of cell-microenvironment interactions in Ovarian cancer/Outils avancés pour la modulation du trafic des intégrines dans le cancer de l'ovaire”
Sahil starts a postdoc position at Kings in London very soon.
October was a busy month for the lab. Firstly, Jean Poylo finished his Masters project with us and moved to Grenoble to start his PhD. Good luck Jean!
In September, Mary's paper on ATG9A-flavour INVs was posted on bioRxiv.
ATG9 vesicles are a subtype of intracellular nanovesicle
This feed is piped to a page on our new lab website which we are hoping to launch soon. We will post a few recent events to backfill the feed.
