In advance of the next inevitable uproar over a BIPOC person being cast in a fantasy movie/TV show, I will invite everybody to pre-chill out and review similar “non-accuracies” that have occurred to canonically Brown and Black skinned characters.

The grief is heavy is our bones and in our soil, and in all the things we know and don't know about this 'civilising' mission. We take it to our work, into our writing. And still it remains, so we sing and dance and dream, but there is still a mountain of rage and grief left over.
