Is there a media blindspot when it comes to European Tech? For our upcoming episode, we analyzed 21 news articles and found that only 3 even tangentially related to EU IT, Tech, or Software. None addressed core topics like AI innovation or cybersecurity. We need to talk about filling this gap. 🇪🇺

While US giants chase scale, Mistral (🇫🇷) is proving that efficiency might be the real winner. Their new ultra-fast translation model rivals the big labs without the hardware bloat. It's a bold statement on the future of European AI. Could this be Europe's moment to lead?

Has anyone tried their new model yet?

Big moves in platform strategy. YouTube's 2026 roadmap doubles down on AI content and TV integration. Simultaneously, the BBC is pouring £600K into a digital accelerator for YouTube and TikTok content. Traditional media isn't just watching creators anymore; they're funding them.

This petition wants contributing to Free Software to be legally and officially recognized as volunteering in Germany on the same level as youth work or ambulance service:

openpetition.de/petition/onlin

This would bring fiscal and funding advantages for FLOSS organizations and the volunteers themselves.

If you are a German citizen, please sign the petition and let's get our volunteers the recognition they deserve!

@gokayburuc totally 👍 , I'm talking about this in the podcast..."But it's also a security nightmare waiting to happen." And yes "a social network where these AI assistants talk to each other." ... What could go wrong !!! (heavy sarcasm 😉 ) I also have a newsletter if you are interested

I think calling this lobster thing a "Trash Panda" of AI is fairly accurate. It's Open Source, yes, it doesn't mean is should be used 😀

@gokayburuc 100% agree with this take. Like the lobster analogy suggests, we need to approach these AI tools with appropriate protection. Too many people are granting blanket access to personal data without understanding how these systems work or what they're doing with their information. The 'trust but verify' principle applies doubly to AI - we shouldn't trust any technology (Moltbot, Crawlbot, or others) until we understand their data practices and limitations.

The data is in: YouTube commands more living room viewing time than any single streaming service. This signals a fundamental shift in monetization and CPMs. If you are still strictly "mobile-first," you are losing money. We break down the strategy. 📺

From Moltbot to OpenClaw, the rebranding is fast, but the risks are real. This viral AI assistant runs locally and connects to your apps, which sounds great until you realize people are giving it their Amazon logins. On today's show, we discuss the "trash panda energy" of agentic tools and the security nightmare of trusting your digital wallet to a lobster.

We are witnessing an unprecedented moment in European tech. Five new unicorns emerged in January alone, coinciding with the strictest wave of digital regulation in history. Is the "compliance burden" actually acting as a competitive advantage for EU-ready startups? Join me on European It! as we explore the Europe's Tech Paradox.

Is Europe finally closing the unicorn gap? With five new billion-dollar companies emerging, the momentum is undeniable. However, as we discuss on this week's Byte Of Truth, AI infrastructure remains heavily US-centric. We dive into Google's ATLAS research and the "curse of multilinguality"—why scaling laws for 400+ languages matter more than ever.

Another day, another round of betrayal by west-russia, formerly known as USA. In this case, against our friends in Canada. Nowadays, EVERY purchase of US goods or services is a form of betrayal against the sovereignty, democracy and economy of your own country. DON’T. #BuyEuropean, #BuyCanadian

I'm in various #buyFromEU , #buyEuropean, #Europe communities on lemmy, piefed and for good measure (to see what's going on) on reddit.

When it comes to social media, so many people still promote pesky new services (no name dropping here) embracing them as direct clone or competitor to the big players. Totally oblivious to already working, well moderated platforms. Over and over, and over again.

That really makes me wanna ragequit those communities.

The Creator M&A frenzy is real. Statusphere secures $18M for micro-influencers, while Fixiated buys Ellify and NowThis acquires a creator franchise. The shift from individual creators to scalable media companies is accelerating. Is your business model ready for this consolidation?

Big shift: Threads is now officially bigger than X on mobile (141.5M vs 125M users). This confirms the migration to "saner" platforms. Meanwhile, Fanvue's $22M raise signals a move toward AI-integrated creator platforms. How are you adjusting your platform strategy?

The "Wild West" era of social media is officially ending. With Australia banning under-16s and OpenAI introducing ads, the landscape is shifting from experimentation to compliance. Creators are no longer just influencers; they are small businesses facing real regulation and operational headaches. 🏛️

@HenryWydham
Thanks for your comment and company introduction. That's a totally relevant initiative (even in Mistral is already operating in GDPR) and I couldn't agree more on the transparency and trust building. And on this subject of transparency...where are the terms, privacy pages on your website, and where is your Estonian company registration number? I would certainly love to connect, as I'm also in beautiful snowy Estonia.
