Popular Pakistani Cricketer Shahid Afridi's YouTube channel (@ShahidAfridiChannel) has been blocked in India by a government order to maintain national security and public order.
According to news reports, this move comes after Shahid Afridi allegedly made controversial remarks against the Indian Army and lapses in security in relation to the Pahalgam attack that occurred on 22nd April in Kashmir.

Internet services were suspended in Kishtwar district of Jammu & Kashmir from 2.00 am on 23.04.25 till 11.59 pm on 23.04.25. Interestingly, the order of shutdown was posted on April 25th, 2025, i.e. 2 days after the imposition of suspension.
Last week, Kishtwar faced targeted internet suspension in some areas, and orders for these shutdowns were uploaded much later than the impositions.
Hearing Update:
Today, the IT Rules 2021 batch of petitions was listed before the Delhi High Court for hearing. On mentioning, the court took up the matter. Parties have been directed to file their written submissions.
The matter will be taken up next on 17th July 2025.
