I am from Denmark and now live in Copenhagen (Ørestad). I've also spent some years of my life as a resident of Beijing and Seoul.
At first, I thought I would mainly be posting stuff about Clojure or RDF (what I do at work, basically), but—somehow—I find myself mostly just uploading pictures of the adventures I go on with my son in our cargo bike (I don't drive a car).

@jack Keynes has so many great quotes. I didn't know this one.
@tanyakaroli Absurd.

@psc I don't expect extra value... I just don't want usability regressions because of a visual gimmick.
@psc I actually use a Mac. Haven't used a Linux desktop since around 2011 or so.
Apple going all-in on "liquid glass" reminds me of the worst vices of Linux window managers.
I remember when I was a teenager constantly trying out new Linux distros and desktop environments. When Compiz came out with that bouncy, jelly-like effect applied to the windows I thought: "They did it! They finally made Linux prettier than Aqua."
But, of course, that effect was a gimmick too, just like making every surface into glass, however realistic the effect may be. What benefit does it provide?
This recent talk by Bret Victor was so interesting. I really want to try out that system now.
Two wheels good, four wheels bad!
@grumpy_website @nikitonsky I don't understand how such low-contrast UIs ever survive a rudimentary accessibility check. So many designers just don't give a shit about accessibility.
Is it me or does this website accomplish the opposite effect? https://youmightnotneedjquery.com
I kid you not. This is actual text Google clowns put into the post about their "new" Material design.
"Quantified factors" are "32% increase in subculture perception", "a 34% boost in modernity" and "a 30% jump in rebelliousness"

Mastodon has taken the strategic decision not to accept venture capital investments for growth, but rather restructure to a European non-profit organisation. 👏
We're moving to a temporary flat about 150m from our current place, so I decided to move most of the boxes myself in the evenings. The child seats make it impossible to have multiple boxes at the base, so the best option is a triple decker.
Apropos em dashes & AI...
@twoframesperminute @grumpy_website The definition of obsolescence is: "the process of becoming obsolete or outdated and no longer used".
When new features are left out for no obvious technical reason, I would argue that this is, in fact, about making them obsolete. It doesn't mean they can't be used at all, of course. Obsolete things can still be used.
