Anyone building a carpark without angled parking is, objectively, doing it wrong. I cannot fathom what could possibly possesses people to still make 90 degree parks.
Bug fixes, performance improvements. Ecoauthoritarian.

@wezm there’s cases like this as well! They’re ok quality, colour looked almost spot on next to my dads old Bondi Blue iMac https://www.spigen.com/products/iphone-15-series-case-classic-c1-magfit
Novated leasing, aside from it being sort of tied to your current and future employers are there any other huge downsides to it? The tax incentives alone make it substantially cheaper than keeping my current car on the road which makes me feel like it has to be scam…
Specifically with EVs I should add, for the added tax benefits.
Apparently lemm.ee is shutting down at the end of this month :(
@heals Albion can definitely feel like that sometimes as well tbh, but you can do way more in the free tier of Albion than you can in EVEs free tier
@heals yeah kind of it’s a weird game kind of like EVE in a lot of ways.
The whole game is centered on PvP, and it’s the main driver of the games economy. But aside from the highest end materials you can generally gather stuff without being involved in any PvP then craft in a city. There’s still a big demand for lower and mid range gear, guilds lose a ton of gear in their “wars” so they’ll often buy cheaper stuff in big quantities.
There’s also the idea of gathering gear, so even if you’re gathering in a PvP zone you yourself probably won’t be outfitted to fight.
It is quite entertaining to reply to recruiters reaching out to you unprompted about a totally unsuitable position, and tell them that the salary is “just way too low” regardless of how much it is.
20% more than what I get now? Peasant money, don’t you dare approach me with figures like that again.
Some get offended, some are interested, and others ask if your organisation is open to working with them.
@heals Albion has a big player driver economy that’s very crafting heavy, PvP is big but it’s generally confined to a different continent. Has a mobile version as well!
iOS 26 is… ok. Control Centre looks unhinged but the rest of the UI seems ok, and the animations have a little more “bounce” to them which looks better than before.
The keyboard however looks different when used in apps vs in system things (like search, Settings etc) which is weird and mildly annoying.
Having said that if you took out the UI changes this has very few other interesting features. Maybe Siri will sprout a brain in future but it’s still as dumb as a bag of rocks right now.
@decryption same experience here as well. Also seems pretty good at writing small unit tests for things that you show it.
Small success today; managed to convince our IT department to also include real microphones as part of the welcome pack our new starters get. It took a week with 15 hours of meetings, with people still using the mic’s on their bluetooth headsets to convince me it would be worth the extra $50-60 per person.
Liquid Glass in general looks good, but the clear app icons look like a $2.49 Play Store icon pack from ~10 years ago. #wwdc25
Victor Harbour looking pretty good today despite the rain. Thought I was being very clever picking a rainy public holiday to head down there but turns out everyone else had the same idea.
Anyone else remember the term “aussie battler” (pronounced battlah)? It got repeated so much pre 2010 it sort of lost all meaning and just became a kind of slur for people that watched A Current Affair unironically
@carnage4life If I get another U2 album forced on me, I _will_ freak out
@meohw I use 1pass and keep the secrets/env vars section of my bashrc in that. Any PW manager would do fine though, I just get his one for free through work.
Any other “state” is generally on my NAS or cloud storage in the case of stuff like Steam save game files.
Since I can SSH to my NAS all I really need is the password manager with my key in it, and rsync.
Sometime you have an experience that really restores your faith in humanity. I’m pleased to say today was one of those days for me.
@rl_dane W…what’s in the burgers?
What’s up with recruiters wanting to call you via _whatsapp_, of all things? Do they not have Zoom, Google Meet, or even Teams in the UK?
Just saw a RedBook “lite” pre purchase inspection happen - absolutely not worth $200. Dude spent most of his time taking photos of the log book, 5 minutes very casually glancing around the engine bay and under the tires.
Then his rego checker (not sure what he was using) wasn’t loading, so he refused to test drive it despite that being part of the package because he claimed he couldn’t verify it was registered even though the PPSR said it was.
Not sure if their more “premium” packages are any better, but the lite one seems useless.
