Apple is going all-in with the new windowing mode on iPad. With a curl of the monkey's paw, splitscreen and slideover and fast app switching are now completely gone. You can't swipe the home indicator to switch between apps — it's windowing or nothing.

That may prove to be a bridge too far, but I'm sure they're only a feature flag away from bringing them back as an option.

However, Stage Manager remains.
