Juggling multiple social media accounts was never going to happen for me, but the other place is so hostile, the proper effort to transition to here is underway...
Join me at #AccessNovember's Roundtables & Networking Event - I'll be on the Lived Experiences & Everyday Accessibility Panel at 1pm GMT talking about what it's like living as a disabled/neurodivergent person within the games industry.

@esdin Understanding that motion sickness comes from a mismatch between the player's expectation and the game's feedback. Don't move the player's camera!
Attention #gamedev folks!
I’m actively recruiting games to be exhibited at a UK based video games expo taking place in Q2 2023.
Expected 2500+ attendees, so a great platform to showcase what you’re working on. Games for all platforms welcome including retro. From NES to PS5 we love them all.
This event focuses on small-medium sized indies but larger indies and AAAs are welcome as both free and paid exhibits are available.

Retoots welcome and highly appreciated.
Had a nice time this evening on the last day of the town fair, went on the waltzers which was enough for my poor back, ate expensive delicious food and had donuts and candy floss. A very good time :)
I finally tried #Debirdify from @pruvisto and found it a really useful way to locate people you follow on #Twitter who are now on #Mastodon. Also learned a good tip to put your full Mastodon account in your Twitter bio so it can figure the matching out better -- plus humans can, too. #Fedifinder from @Luca is a similar service that looks interesting.
Replacing my phone screen makes me feel equal parts terror and genius. It does feel good to be able to do that rather than pay for a whole new phone when my low proprioception causes phone related casualties 😂
Having been here since 2016, I can tell you there is definitely no such thing as a consensus on usage of content warnings on the fediverse. It's a decentralized network that doesn't belong to any one party, so by definition there is no single culture on it. Different corners have different expectations and customs.
Let it be known, I am conflicted about CW my disability & health issues - they're intrinsically linked to me, my work, how I work and what I make games wise, and it feels like hiding it. This is one of the downsides of Mastodon - rules for different communities mean people may feel like they have to hide parts of themselves in order to follow rules or meet the general consensus on topic/theme.
Better do a proper #Introduction then, hadn't I?
I am Harriet, I am a Project Lead at Many Cats Studios here in the dank cold of the UK, I also moonlight professionally as a Games Accessibility Consultant. I am #ActuallyAutistic, #ADHD and #MultiplyDisabled and I use those characteristics to stand up and fight for better inclusion of disabled and neurodivergent developers in the games industry.
Outside of games, I love mycology, lepidopterology and fibre arts. :D Nice to meet folks!
suggestion: hashtags are important here. please use “Camel Case” so screen readers understand what the words are and can pronounce them properly. example:
#DogsOfMastodon not #dogsofmastodon
make sense??
