I was on a security TAC where a known cyber threat intel firm had a rep talking through some of the threat actor groups they had seen, and I was silently cackling as it was slowly dawning on everyone in the room that like it was basically “kids being kids” but on the internet, which meant figuring out possible incentives/motivations and trying to predict what would happen next was hard; and ofc figuring out the right mitigations to set up was even harder.

seeing a lot of "the internet archive got hacked/ddos'ed because of [insert complex political/financial reason here]" posts but all evidence so far points to it just being some edgelord kids doing it for clout.

the lawsuits are a different matter entirely, of course.

It’s been months but I finally got a chance to sit down and putter with the accordion today. There’s been a lot going on. It’s times like this where you just take life one day at a time.

Quantum computing is hype because it's not here yet, but is being sold as if it were.
AI is hype because it's here now and it fucking sucks.
Those are not the same kind of hype, and there's no reason to expect they should progress along the same trajectory.

No one works harder, no one has more hope, no one has more ambition, and no one has to give up more than the Immigrants that come to the United States of America with nothing but the clothes on their back and a few dollars. Practically with almost nothing left to lose.

This is why Kamala knows people like me. People whose parents came here with practically nothing just so that their kids could have the life they couldn’t have.
