Finding Hidden Classic Themes: A Field Guide

From about June 2025 or possibly even earlier, Classic themes were removed from view in the WordPress.com Theme Showcase. Searching for Classic Themes - February 2026 It doesn't appear that these themes are retired. I believe the intention in removing them from view is to encourage site owners to move to themes that fully support Blocks and the full Site Editor.

In order to maintain my sanity and keep on track, I set some limitations on what I'm planning to do during this year's #the100dayproject. As I previously said, I want to incorporate some of my 2026 goals: Take photos with my camera camera Knit and destash yarn Get back into graphics Camera: One daily photo, doesn't need to be a masterpiece, just help me get back in the habit of photographing.

The good news about the WordPress Classic Editor end of life is that it's now 2026 and WordPress site owners continue to have access to the Classic Editor.
