Reçu en cadeau lors d'un concours.

Au Cameroun, Andoun a quatorze ans et elle rêve d'autre chose que de travailler aux champs avec les femmes de sa famille et du mariage qu'on veut la voir contracter. Elle rêve d'école et d'ailleurs et elle fera tout pour éviter le chemin tout tracé qui lui a été réservé.

C'est le premier roman de Kiyémis. Elle est aussi poétesse et essayiste. Je vous conseille d'ailleurs le recueil "À nos humanités révoltés" avec ses poèmes puissants.
Ce roman était posé depuis de longues semaines sur ma table de chevet. J'attendais le bon moment pour le lire et, après avoir abandonné une lecture qui avait pourtant tout pour me plaire, je me suis décidée à le commencer. J'ai eu beaucoup de mal à le poser.
L'écriture est belle et imagée. L'alternance entre prose et poésie sert au texte. Kiyémis a un don avec les mots.
Andoun est une jeune fille puis une jeune femme qu'on prend plaisir à découvrir.
Elle va surtout se battre contre le poids de la tradition que sa famille veut lui imposer. Il lui faudra constamment se rappeler qu'elle ne veut pas de ces contraintes et qu'elle peut changer les choses pour son enfant et pour elle. Elle a une force de caractère qui force le respect. Et même lorsqu'elle accepte de se plier aux règles qui lui sont imposées, elle réussit finalement à s'en débarrasser. Ça l'a rend un peu rigide parfois et j'ai été un peu triste pour sa fille qui, même si elle a eu une belle carrière a dû mettre ses rêves de côté.
Kiyémis est une autrice à suivre, c'est son premier roman mais ce ne sera pas son dernier. Il me faut maintenant découvrir un des ses essais. "Pour la joie" me donne bien envie.

Yesterday I released the (maybe?) last version of my InMyPocket browser addon for #pocket. Pocket was shut down months ago but people are still using my addon on a daily basis despite the error messages everywhere 🫶

This release tries to bring awareness about #pocket shutdown, and also provides a built-in way to export items from the addon local storage.

Well. Weeks/months after the total shutdown of #pocket, and migrating to other services, I notice that I don't consume my reading list anymore.

I've switched to #raindrop but it's not a read later tool. #instapaper could be, but apart from Kobo integration, it's not super usable tbh.

Part of this is me missing my own #inmypocket addon, but also imperfect alternatives. Not sure what I'll do next. Reboot the addon? Start yet another service? Contribute to open-source and self-host? 🤷‍♂️

While I was not looking Mozilla has killed Pocket (aka. "read later") without having sent me a notice and now my data is gone (not that I had a lot).

Since Pocket was one of the main reasons I bought a Kobo ebook reader this spring, I'm somewhat annoyed.

But Kobo replaced Pocket with Instapaper, where I apparently even have an account I have not used since 2012 :D

Im Sommer, als #Pocket das Ende des Dienstes ankündigte, hatte ich 463 "Read-it-later"-Links gespeichert 😱.
Ich habe aus der Not eine Tugend gemacht und seitdem alle Einträge aussortiert, gelesen, geschaut, weiter verarbeitet, einsortiert oder in meine #Obsidian-Verwaltung übernommen – schrittweise, fünf Monate lang. Gerade war der letzte Eintrag dran 🍾 🥂, Sync gelöst.

P.S.: Ich habe gelernt, keinen (externen) RIL-Dienst mehr zu verwenden. Mit #Delicious ging es mir damals ähnlich.
