this is Zïlon’s work “Dépanneur Peur fermé 24 sur 24” in Montrèal’s Plateau neighborhood. It’s kind of beyond me to really describe it but it consists of crude seeming graffiti type scrawls and images covering over an entire abandoned building that was prepared by painting it white.

A ‘thitpok’ tree, sometimes also known as a ‘spung’ or Tetrameles nudiflora if you’re fancy, grows on one of the outer temple walls at Ta Prohm temple in the Angkor Wat complex. It looks for all the world like a giant hand that has reached down and crushed the wall, knocking the entranceway askew. The photo was taken in March 2105.

a bee was gathering pollen and got tired on this daisy i guess. they didn’t fly away when i got close for the photo but they did start to wake up a bit. if i was a bee i’d fall asleep face down in a flower if i was tired too.

The rocks were really slippery and it was hard to walk out far. People around here all seem to have a bodyboards or something so they can paddle out into the water and hang out. Two ladies went out in kayaks to smoke a joint while I was taking this picture.

A deadfall tree was cut to clear a trail and someone painted a happy face on the cut end of the trunk. Now it’s just hanging out beside the trail in the dappled sunlight with all the ferns.

A small tree that fell in a windstorm was cut in half to clear access to a trail, and someone has painted a yellow heart on the tree where it was cut. The tree lies on the mossy bed of the forest floor and a large fern grows near it.

Five spot flowers (Nemophila maculata).

They must have really liked the winter this year because they self-sowed all over the place and they are popping up everywhere. Normally this plant is native to California, so its typical range is a bit to the south of us :)
