L'Université de Lorraine est partenaire du projet européen ALMASI sur l’édition scientifique en accès ouvert.

En swahili, le terme « Almasi » signifie « diamant ».

Le projet vise à développer un écosystème de communication scientifique à but non lucratif, de haute qualité et durable, sur trois régions : l’Afrique, l’Europe et l’Amérique latine.

L’Université de Lorraine a rejoint le consortium comme partenaire associé, aux côtés de 14 institutions bénéficiaires dont la Fondation européenne de la science, African Journals Online (AJOL), OPERAS et le CNRS.

ALMASI doit permettre aux communautés scientifiques d’assumer l’entière responsabilité des publications diamant, gratuites pour le lecteur et pour les auteurs.

#EIFL (Electronic Information for Libraries), #AJOL (African Journals Online) and #WACREN (the West and Central African Research and Education Network) invite African organizations - legal entities that own open access (OA) journals that do not charge any fees for either authors or readers (often referred to as #DiamondOA journals), and where editorial teams are based - to participate in a grant call for proposals.
