FYI...I am still in heavy Christmas bazaar mode, but had to share the FOUR sea otters currently being cared for at Alaska SeaLife Center. They are all gorgeous orphaned dolls! I shall return to my regular posting at some point in the not too distant future, but for now...YIKES!!! :christmastree: :christmaspresents: #AlaskaWinter #AlaskaMarineLife #OrphanedSeaOtterPups #AlaskaSeaLifeCenter

Speaking of rescued walruses...Who remembers Uki? Rescued last year? It was determined by USFWS that she could not return to the ocean so she was transferred to Sea World in Orlando. Anyway, Uki will be featured in the season premiere of Nature | PBS, airing October 22, 2025! (8 PM ET β€’ 7 PM CT β€’ 4 PM Alaska Time). #UkiTheWalrus #AlaskaSeaLifeCenter #Alaska

Again, this is Echo or Juliet. They were both released today at the beach in Kenai. Both were rescued and rehabilitated at the #AlaskaSeaLifeCenter in Seward, Alaska. I have a video of the second harbor seal when he/she hits the water that I will try to post. So precious! #Alaska #AlaskaMarineLife #AKHarborSealRelease

Alaska SeaLife Center has been busy! "In just seven days, three harbor seal pups were rescued and admitted to the Wildlife Response Program from Petersburg, Homer, and Anchorage. One of the pups was born prematurely, one was found severely malnourished, and another was rescued after it was found alone, likely due to maternal separation. Two of these pups remain in critical condition as our veterinary team works to stabilize their fragile health." Poor little angels!! May they thrive and survive! Happy World Otter Day! The Alaska SeaLife Center took in this little girl a few weeks ago after she was found abandoned, malnourished and dehydrated. As you can see, she is doing quite well, although she has an arm injury. #Alaska #AlaskaMarineLife #AlaskaSeaLifeCenter #SeaOtterPup

This sweet angel was rescued a few days ago in Seward, which is awesome as it's where the Alaska SeaLife Center is located. The juvenile northern sea otter was seen at the boat harbor with several injuries but was found in a sheltered hallway of an apartment building. He has a broken nasal bone, eye injury as well as pneumonia and parasites. The staff at SeaLife Center are hopeful for a full recovery. #Alaska #AlaskaSeaLifeCenter #RescuedSeaOtter

She is NO longer Miss Walrus Girl because her official, beautiful new Inupiaq name is...Ukiaq or Uki (oo-kee) for short. Ukiaq means "autumn." Perfect name for a perfectly beautiful walrus girl. #Alaska #AlaskaSeaLifeCenter #Ukiaq #Uki #RescuedBabyWalrus

No, Miss Walrus Girl is not posing for the next edition of Playwalrus Magazine; she's learning to love the travel enclosure she will travel in when she moves to the Lower 48. She cannot be released because her dependence on humans started at such an early age. No set date for her departure from Alaska. #Alaska #AlaskaSeaLifeCenter #MissWalrusGirl #RescuedWalrusBaby
