I prefer to stay with #AlgoVPN IKE2 for now over WireGuard.

The problem is, that too much of Tailscale depends on a vendor. And my exit strategy from Cloudflare is to be in control.

@robertpi I remember #AlgoVPN getting some love on the @changelog podcast in 2020. It's self hosted, so you'd need to set it up on a low cost cloud VM in the UK. I had a quick look and in Azure a Standard_B1ls (1 vcpu, 0.5 GiB) is about £8.69/month.

前兩天有新聞說 #Alphabet 下面的 Jigsaw 做了個新 VPN 叫 #Outline，過去看了源碼之後發現這東西就是一個 #Shadowsocks 前端，服務端是自動安裝 SS 的東西以及一個面板，客戶端是把現有的代碼（包括 ss-libev 和 Potatso 等等）複製過來重新做了一個界面（真的只是複製，submodule 都不是）（當然這不違反協議）。
相當於它就是個好看點的、用戶友好點的一鍵機場（
然後現在 #AlgoVPN 的作者又說 #Outline 抄襲了他的作品，這就非常豹笑了（而且 #AlgoVPN 至少還是個真正的 VPN，#Shadowsocks 就不是 VPN，雖然被宣傳成了 VPN）。

So... Jigsaw is a team from Google (Alphabet), and they made a “VPN” based on existing #Shadowsocks proxy called #Outline . Then the author of #AlgoVPN says Outline plagiarized his work. And #Outline is just a more user-friendly #Shadowsocks front end, and the author seems didn’t make any direct contribution to the #Shadowsocks project, he just copied the code (Not even using submodules) (Though it isn’t a violation of #Shadowsocks license) to his #Outline project. It’s really funny.
