Taking the title of "Kapitana" and/or "Tinyenta" in the town of Angono, Rizal, is like being the "Jefa de fiestas" — head of festivities — for one whole year.
Together with their associates — " the Konsehalas"—, the Kapitana and the Tinyenta are to perform various ceremonial and functional duties in different occasions such as town festival, Marian feast days, Christmas celebration & ultimately, during lent.

In the night of Easter Sunday, the "Bunutan" — draw lots — is held to identify the new Tinyenta and Kapitana.
There is a bit of pageantry in this tradition, which is something the townspeople are fond of.
Prominent families in Angono get to send representatives to join the Bunutan.
Ulltimately, this shows the young people's devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The lenten season practices of Angono, Rizal — Philippines — culminating in the celebration of Easter Sunday — "Salubong", are unique and are endemic tradition of the town.
This is considered a collaborative manifestation of the townspeople's devotion through manual labor, visual arts, music, literature and dance.

The Angel of Resurrection singing "Regina Coeli", a musical antiphon addressed to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
I remember, a local once told me that the paper-maché birds that opened the "Puso", are actually roosters, referring to Saint Peter, to whom, Jesus gave the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven.

The "Puso" — Heart, symbolizing the "pinto ng langit" — gate of heaven, opens and revealing the Angel of Resurrection inside it.
The Angel will then get the black veil from the Marian image, symbolizing the end of her grief, as she welcomes her resurrected son, Jesus Christ.
