The catcher in the ballpark Episode 10 review
Thoughts on Episode 10 of Catch me in the ballpark
Vignette 1: Us back then
Natsume Uda a failing actress and former idol, is having a hard time landing gigs, she makes her way to the stadium where she is recognised by Kohinata. Natsume worked as a vendor girl at the same time as Kohinata. Both look back at the club and their time together. Natsume compares her ailing career to that of the club.
Look at them two beauties! It’s really great they added a backstory to the episode where they showed Kohinata and a former worker together in a pic. Well, this is that worker. I do feel bad for Natsume, all her efforts aren’t being rewarded, no matter how hard she tries. It is pretty funny how she compares herself to Motorsuns – both try but not achieving what they want. It’s funny, because they are now in a position to be in the playoffs. So, I suspect, Natsume could be getting a major gig as well. Kohinata is close 2nd after Ruriko.
<< Catch me at the ballpark ep 09: The dog, the drama, the defining momentVignette 2: Whack that bottom!
Dennis is wondering why his fellow teammate Bryan is getting the team’s ass pat. Bryan hinted that, the issue is Dennis not making eye contact with his teammates. With him up to bat, he gets a homerun, with a very nice outfield shot.
I wish I could say the same BryanWell, you are, duh!I am laughing at this vignette. The english is pretty much your typical Engrish, where the VA’s do their best in speaking English. However, that isn’t the only thing that got me laughing, and it is a nice nod back to episode 9 where Ruriko mentions Murata by name. She finds it awkward to look him in the eye, Dennis who witnessed Murata being friendly with her, is outright staring daggers into his soul. In a bid to show his worth, he hits a homerun. The hilariousness is that his homerun smacked Ruriko on the butt, you lucky damn ball! and finally, he gets to meet his baseball goddess who gives him a receipt.
Vignette 3: The double T-duo
Koijo is being congratulated for his first born. Everyone except his best friend Tsubaki is informed. So, he decides to use a spare empty room to give his best friend that he is expecting. They both remanence on how they couldn’t join up together. With Tsubaki leaving for the states. However, the phone call led to a startling revelation.
I got work too, to bad it’s on a weekend doing this!Who this mysterious guy? This vignette is quite touching. The two friends that wanted to play together in the same team, their fates and destiny weren’t aligned. With Tsubaki having to leave Japan. Throughout the series, they have been mentioned. As the call went on, it is slowly hinting at something. I didn’t expect the revelation
SpoilersTsubaki is Sun-shiro, Motosun’s mascot
I really enjoyed watching the final scene with Kojiro.
Overall Conclusion:
I got what Natsume is going through, always trying and never really getting that break, whilst others who also try, eventually get that break much earlier than you. And that is demoralising. Whilst keep trying is a thing, there is also diminishing effort. Meaning that, you’re wasting energy in pursuing something that might not happen occur. The second vignette got a laugh out of me, that baseball is lucky to hit Ruriko in the ass. The final one is very touching.

The catcher in the ballpark Episode 09 review
Thoughts on Episode 9 of the catcher in the ballpark
Vignette 1: Tommy’s melancholy
Ruriko is late for work as she slept in, whilst getting scolded for it, she inadvertently gets held up by a dog who is sitting at the door. Meanwhile the staff at the stadium is looking for the same dog. At the end of it, Ruriko learnt an important lesson, whilst still getting scolded again.
I can see him Ruriko! This was a very amusing vignette, it told the story of Tommy the baseball dog and how tired he actually is of fetching balls for his hoomans. It also told me that Ruriko is more of a cat person, hell yeah same here! I did get to chuckle at how good she is at pitching, trying to get Tommy to leave her. In the end she bonded with Tommy on how tired they are of working. Pretty much everyone gets tired of working, so it’s pretty universal. I did laugh at the end of my fav vendor girl getting scolded yet again.
<< catch me at the ballpark ep 08: that fateful windy dayVignette 2: Mr Murata
Ruriko is selling her usual, this time something caught Murata’s eye, she was wearing a motorsun scarf. He explains that he has merch of the team too, that he values. A wallet. Ruriko finds Murata’s wallet on the floor, she goes off to find and return his wallet.
You know, that wallet does look tasteful! This vignette is a sweet one. The underlying message is pretty obvious; it’s has been pushed throughout the series. Ruriko and Murata finding or re-finding each other, in a romantic way. They do it in a cheesy cliched way, she goes around looking for him, however they kept missing each other by a few seconds. You know, those romance shows that do that. Then they find each other at the end. My fav vendor girl getting scolded again is just funny. Whilst it is nice that Ruriko went looking for him, what would have been logical is to have reported the wallet missing first, logic isn’t her strong suite.
I’m looking for you too Ruriko!!Vignette 3: Show your sun
The vendor team are having a meeting, Nakaizumi thinks Ruriko is doing a good thing by having sun towel on as a way to show support and advertise the merch. Meanwhile the team are gunning for the climax playoff. However, Yuki is spamming Kojiro’s phone for a strange reason.
Must be a good captain then!I do love how Nakaizumi is taking a leaf out of the fashionista herself, in hopes to show support and sell merch. My fave girl does the towel well. I found it funny when her, Sara and Kohinata got scolded by him, they aren’t perfect workers, that’s nice to see. Kojiro as captain is asked to give a speech to the team to inspire them to reach the playoff. And boy hell he hits it out of the park. I was also surprised by Yuki’s behaviour; she refused to drink. There’s a specific reason why she refused the drink, I do love the little twist reveal as to why. A nice episode.
Wonder what the convo is about?Overall Conclusion:
Another sweet episode all around. Despite the first vignette being amusing, it is sweet that Ruriko bonded with Tommy who is just tired from all the hard work his hoomans put him through. The second vignette is the real sweet one, it was obvious from the very episode that there is attraction between Ruriko and Murata, and she finally finds out his name instead of calling him mister is nice. The team finally getting a massive break and not being seen as a banter club is also sweet, especially for Kojiro.

The catcher in the ballpark Episode 08 review
Thoughts on Episode 8 of the catcher in the ballpark
Vignette 1: It’s the winds fault – The Motorsuns stadium is open roofed, so they are exposed to the elements, this time a strong-gust of wind is around. With Ruriko making her rounds, well only you can guess what happened.
Absolutely! I wouldn’t have missed it though Ruriko! This vignette got a lot of smiles from me, wouldn’t mind taking a peak or two myself Ruriko! not much really happened here – really short vignette, I do love how Murata tried to play it off as if he didn’t see anything, focusing on the homerun, when you know he pretty much did – can’t really miss it she’s standing right in front of him. Really love how charmingly gullible my fav vendor girl is, actually believing him that easily. When she thinks he is the oblivious one. Honestly, her teasing is something I do love about her.
<< Previously on episode 07 of catcher in the ballparkVignette 2: Signs – Kokoro, Aona and Ruriko came to the stadium on their off days, all three caught the eyes of the two gents, who wondered how they came together. Ruriko went off and caught Murata also at the stadium. The encounter didn’t quite go as she hoped.
On having a day off and looking great?Going on from what Ruriko said in the previous vignette, she does have a little point about Murata. She wasn’t in uniform and this being the first time attending a baseball game on her off day as well. She caught Murata and proceeded to pace in front of him, then sitting next to him. Sadly, he made the mistake of pretending in not noticing her, which is understandable that upset her, he only picked up on her when she spoke. Bad mistake man. I have to say he did rectify the following meeting. And yeah, Ruriko stands out in more ways than one. Have to say, de ja vu when you annoy ladies.
Look at her Murata!Vignette 3: Watch out for online news! – A reporter has been asked to get some dirt and write a hit piece on the workers in Motorsuns. Aona has been asked to show the reporter around. However, the reporter has a change of heart.
Everyone wishes their posts go viral dudeThis was an interesting one, and it focused on Aona who wants to be a teacher. I do love how Sara thinks Ruriko is a bit of a dunce when it comes to maths and thinks it’s a mistake asking her for help. They squabble like siblings. The point of the final vignette is Aona realising that she enjoys her workplace and can teach people things, even though might not be a qualified teacher. The reporter looked a bit seedy, though with a good heart, this is down to his editor-in-chief being an arse. I do love the five W’s gyaru uses. Can’t remember what they were, had me chuckling though.
Yeah, butt out dopey Ruriko!Overall Conclusion:
Had me smiling in the first vignette. A bit of fan service for me, though not explicit. Felt for Murata, never annoy a lady who may have interest in you. Or just want to be noticed by you. A decent episode overall. Not much really happened, even though things might look it might have a dark cloud, due to the reporter, it turned out okay. Nothing wrong with that. The catcher in the ballpark never meant to be anything serious. A lighthearted episode.
Would you like to see more fanservice on Ruriko?

The catcher in the ballpark Episode 07 review
Pointless things to bond over when transforming!
Vignette 1: The pointless 99 times – Coach Matsudo thinks some of the plays can be pretty pointless, except that 1% that matters. Ruriko and the girls go over some of the lines they should use to their customers, despite them thinking it would be pointless. Only for Ruriko to think otherwise. Got heehee out of me, poor Ruriko.
Vignette 2: Bonds forged over foods – Wataru a player who was chosen to be 6th draft pick feels like he isn’t part of the team, this down to his own inadequacies and jealously towards the team’s star player Shishio who has better stats. With a small encouragement from a cafeteria lady, Wataru beings to feel. A very nice episode I thought.
Vignette 3: Transform! – Ruriko has a photo shoot and gets featured in a weekly baseball magazine. Murata isn’t aware of this, however with telling him her shoot. He thinks back on his time in being in a high school club. It was a nice little vignette I thought.
<< Previously on episode 06 of catcher in the ballparkThoughts on Episode 07 of Catch me in the ballpark
The first vignette is pretty much a little heehee moment for me. As everything Ruriko believed to be pointless, ended up being not so pointless after all. Coach Matsudo thinks that a lot of the play throws can be pointless, which isn’t really true, any build up or throws can be decisive in a game, so I don’t really agree with that mentality, I kind of get what he means by that though. I do love how Ruriko ends up wanting to follow Matsudo for life, with him sneezing in typical anime fashion. The funny part I thought is when Ruriko tried her Engerlish on some foreigners only to find out they can speak fluent Japanese. Bless her, she is my fav vendor girl.
Yup winning that game is important coach! The second vignette really struck a cord with me personally. I understand Wataru’s feeling of being over-shadowed and under achieving in comparison to Shishio, who is the star player with better stats than him, despite them being of the same age. Difference of not only having better stats, with one being 1st draft and the other being 6th draft. The message of this one is, no matter where you in the team, you’re still part of a team, regardless of your position. The food here made me hungry to be honest. I also found cafeteria Marie viewpoint of Wataru being a golden Labbie pretty accurate.
Who you keep thinking about Wataru?I don’t get much then! The final vignette, got me a little hot under the collar, my fave vendor girl gets a photo shoot. At first it looked like she was uncomfortable, that wasn’t accurate, more like nervous, never the less, Ruriko getting some photo shoots, is nice. Sadly, most didn’t get to the page where she was featured in. It was nice getting some real character background exposition, with Murata being in a fine arts club back in high school, but not really be part of it. Whilst it is the opposite for Ruriko, she wasn’t in a club but feels like she is in a team she enjoys being part of. And that is really sweet. The latter half of this, well Yamada also got featured in the same article. However, poor Yamada, not only did her prince charming not notice her feature, but also the editor misspelt her name in the article. She has no luck.
Transform into my waifu Ruriko!!Overall Conclusion:
I thought this episode is decent. Some really nice interactions with the team, considering that the main focal point usually lands on Ruriko or Murata. The photo shoot, wasn’t as hot and steam as I made out. I did notice Ruriko’s dress being a tad shorter than it usually is, not that I’m complaining. I’m starting to feel for Yamada, she has feelings for Murata, yet can’t quite catch a break in the luck department.
Excuse him, he spaced out YamadaThanks for stopping by, till the next post!

The catcher in the ballpark Episode 06 review
Treasured memories and wrestling bout!
Vignette 1: A good kid – this vignette focused on the only high schooler vendor girl Sara. Her family came around to see her work. Even though she feels embarrassed of them being around. In the end she is a good kid. Such, a sweet little vignette, brought a smile to my face.
Vignette 2: So many treasures – The waiting room needed to be cleaned out. As the girls went through some of the items, all reminiscing the time they spent working there. Kohinata and Nakaizumi have been working there the longest. Brought a really big smile on my face.
Vignette 3: Going off-script – A special event is taking place. Styx v Motorsuns. With Motorsuns being made fun of for their bad streaks. The event was entertained by all 12 team mascots. Sun-shiro got tired of seeing the team being mocked. I had a laugh on this one.
<< Previously on episode 05 of catcher in the ballparkThoughts on Episode 06 of Catch me in the ballpark
First one is really sweet, Sara being the youngest vendor girl. She had her mother and father come to the stadium, despite her protestations of not wanting them there or having her pictures taken by her dad, she was actually happy to. I do like how she went through each of her senpai’s on how cool they are. Until she got to Ruriko, where flashbacks of her being a bit dozy, but still thought she is amazing is really sweet of her to hold them in high regards. The end of this vignette really topped it off when her entire family came to show her support and take pics with her. Can’t stress how really sweet it was.
Don’t worry Sara, it’s all goodThe second one, I thought is a bit more involved with a good chunk of the cast. Sara almost got hurt from trying to get something, which galvanised the vendor girls and the guys to help clean up the waiting and changing rooms. Aona had kept her diary from when she is dating one of the guys working there. Ruriko being the nosey one, calls over Sara and the girls. I do love the interaction between Ruriko and Sara, they both having this older sis-little sis relationship with Ruriko being the teasing older sis. The gang find some old things like a baseball mag that was cheap as hell with a much younger Kojiro being the front boy, before joining them. The real kicker is Kohinata, being a gyaru 10 years ago. This surprised everyone, even my fave vendor girl. The interaction with the guys and girls really made this vignette feel like they are a team and gave some info dump on the lesser used characters.
Don’t shoot Kohinata!Nakaizumi reminiscing about the good ol daysLast one had me laughing. The stadium became the place for an all-star game involving all 12 teams. Motorsuns going up against their rivals Fukuoka Styx. With the Styx leading. This one was hilarious. Dennis Young screwing up every time he sees the baseball goddess. Can’t really blame him, even I’d screw up seeing my fave vendor girl. To the mascots scripted wrestling between Sun-shiro and Kaiser. I was just laughing, the wrestling moves, sure they’re overdone. Drop kicks, flying head butt, German Supplex. What triggered Sun-shiro to kick Kaiser’s ass is the mockery that the team endured by the rivals’ fans. So, Sun-shiro goes off the script and kicks Kaiser’s butt. Even I whooped there.
I strangely want to join in with them mascotsOverall Conclusion:
A really enjoyable episode. All three of them left me with a smile. I did laugh my arse off at the wrestling match between sun-shiro and kaiser. That had it all, except a heavy weight belt. Sara vignette was really sweet, having her family just be proud and spoil her, whilst she is being a typical teenager. Seeing Dennis being head over heels over Ruriko, can’t blame him, she is waifu material. Funny enough, it’s the halfway point of the series. And strangely, doing episode reviews on it, has been pretty fun. Yeah, I know I’ve fallen behind. I’ll definitely picking up the pace on it.

Madan no Ou to Vanadis Episode 07
Roland decides to challenge her. With a mighty swing of Durandal, he breaks Sofy magical barrier. This in turn shocks Sofy. She has a small scuffle with Roland. But she uses one of her abilities to teleport away. Mashas turns up and drives Roland and his men away. It turns out that Mashas was held up in the capital, by some assassins. It was only due to Sofy untimely appearance, that was she able to help Mashas. It is also to be noted, the king of Brune has lost his mind with grief. Thenardier and Ganelon are aware of this, and have ultimately taken over the castle. Issuing out orders “under the kings name”. They are the ones responsible for setting Roland on Tigre. Elen attention diverts back to Tigre. He isn’t doing well, on top of his injury he has developed a fever. Titta is nursing him the best she can.

The Unwanted Undead Adventurer Episode 1 review: Being reborn as an undead
Reign of the seven spell blades Episode 1: HP the anime
Thenardier has sent out a force to take control of Alsace. Roland is suspicious of this behaviour. But proceeds with the “order” anyway. Tigre has shown signs of recovery. Whilst not fully healed, he heads out with Titta to some field. The black bow takes them to a hidden temple. Elen and co head out to face Roland once again. Leaving behind all their injured soldiers. Roland decides to use a crescent formation, this way they can chip away at Elens formation. Back at the temple, Tigre and Titta stumble upon a carving of a woman. Titta recognises her as Tir na Fa. A goddess.
Point of interest:
Tir is now testing Tigre with the bow. She wants Tigre to shoot Tir/Titta. If he does and the bow acknowledges him, then she will give him power. Tigre has no choice, so he takes up his bow against his childhood friend and maid. Tigre takes aim, but as always decides he rather have their clothes ripped to shreds and not kill them. Tigre is riding in to battle. Roland somehow frees himself from Ley Admos. Shocking both Sofy and Elen. Tigre launches an arrow from a great distance, surprising Roland. Who is astonished by the distance he fired it from. Roland questions Tigre about the treaty of Zchted and Alsace. Tigre wound has opened up again, this concerns Elen greatly. But aids him in firing a shot to Roland to settle the score. Roland is defeated.
With the show now speeding along, we get to see Tigre becoming more of a lead MC. We do see just how strong Roland really is. As he easily faced Sofy and Elen head on and almost beat them, if it were not the timely intervention of Tigre. However Roland still takes the lead as the main man here, Tigre is just a boy -joke-. The fight was okay, nothing outstanding. The introduction of the goddess was an interesting point. How much of an influence she will play in the series, only time will tell.

Summer Pockets: A sunlit journey of memories and romance
https://i.imgur.com/8ZGeeeG.mp4
Summer Pockets is set on an isolated, rural and peaceful island on the Seto Inland Sea called Torishirojima, which has a population of about 2,000 people. The protagonist is Hairi Takahara, a young man not native to the island. Hairi grew up in an urban setting, but after an unpleasant incident he uses the recent death of his grandmother as an excuse to come to the island to take care of her estate sale. Once there, he gets to know four girls who are the focus of the story. They include Shiroha Naruse, who forgot her summer vacation; Ao Sorakado, who is pursuing the legends of the island; Kamome Kushima, a high-class girl looking for a pirate ship; and Tsumugi Wenders, a younger girl trying to find herself
Summer memories and adventures await
It’s been a very long time since I last watched anything from Keys, that one being Charlotte. And that’s the only series I’ve watched from them. So, having another go with Summer pockets is one I found interesting. Summer pocket is pretty much your quintessential Key visual novel. And this is what’s this is based on, granted I haven’t played the visual novel, so I’m going in blind.
Honestly, nothing much happens in the 3 episodes I’ve watched, if anything happens at all. And that’s fine, I found myself thinking summer pockets picked the wrong season to be airing, as the namesake is far more suited to the summer season. As it really does have that summer vibe to it. The art scenery is gorgeous.
I’m guessing the show’s premises is finding or rather re-finding lost youth, as Takahara struggled with something in his life and is here to find himself. Along the way some love interests in basically a harem. Usually, I’d leave this at the would I still watch it section but will mention it here. This show makes a very nice Sunday viewing, imo.

Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World?: First Impression
Takahara Hairi your male main lead, very typica VN leadTakahara Hairi is your typical male lead. I do think he is somewhat left blank, since he is the main lead in the visual novel so his personality is very typical of visual novel leads – if that makes sense at all. His history over at the mainland is interesting, he has some history being part of the swimming team, whilst not living up to swim team, has caused him to have some trauma. So, he is chilling on the island and finding which girl he can add to his growing harem. He may have some connection or memories to the island, as there are subtle hints.
Shiroha Naruse is literally your quintessential Keys female main leadShiroha Naruse I’d say is the main girl for the anime. As Takahara has a bit more interaction with her or run ins with her at least. She seems to like swimming just like Takahara. She is the most mysterious one from the looks of it. Her personality is okay, I found. Other than that, not much else.
Would I continue watching?
Yeah, I’d continue with it. Makes a very pleasant Sunday viewing.

The catcher in the ballpark Episode 05 review
Winning hearts, meal packs and when it rains it shines
Vignette 1: Ticks me off! – Murata special, this time around instead of going to the baseball park alone, he has his junior Shimizu joining him. In what can only be described as misunderstanding as Ruriko sees competition, and not just her Yamada as well. Had me grinning on this one
Vignette 2: The meal pack capriccio – Yuki is back and this time in wanting to support her husband she buys all the Kojiro meal pack, as no one she thinks is buying them, she’s not the only one though, as Kisa Konda the girlfriend of the teams pitcher is also buying her mans meal pack. An amusing vignette
Vignette 3: Different faces – In this vignette, there were some rain delays to a match. Ruriko is getting drenched in the rain, however that didn’t dampen her spirit. A father Koki and daughter Megumi were also watching the match, with Megumi reminding herself of continuing to play a trumpet in the school’s band in the rain. It was an okay vignette
<< Previously on episode 04 of catcher in the ballparkThoughts on Episode 05 of Catch me in the ballpark
Vignette 1, it was the classic misunderstanding episode. Murata initially came in alone however, Shizimu a co-worker that is actually a baseball nut sat next to him. Ruriko my favourite vendor girl got called over, which is a classic mistake move done by Murata. As soon as Ruriko saw Shimizu, jealously was all over her face, loved her pouty face. She gave a nice cup of beer to Shimizu, yet gives a dripping one to Murata. That’s where it doesn’t end there at all, Yamada also made a guest appearence. As she noticed her prince charming with the lovely Shimizu. This vignette got a huge grin out of me.
Yeah, know the feeling Murata!Exactly Shimizu!! see you’re on the same page as me!Vignette 2 wasn’t a bad one. So, Yuki makes a return and this time she is buying meal packs, she wants to support her husband by buying meal packs as she thinks no one else is. What is interesting, however is that another lady by the name of Kisa is also buying meal packs of her boyfriend. What lead to these ladies, is actually competing against each other. Without realising that they are both in the same boat, they could have been friends. I found the ladies trying to out eat each other meal packs pretty amusing. The bit that did get me going a bit eh to them. When you buy food, you can’t return it. This is due to food standards, even if they are in a box, no way to return them.
This isn’t an eating competition ladiesVignette 3 was a pretty nice one. It’s raining, with motosuns leading, and they have momentum. Ruriko is out in the rain without a rain coat, most of the cast were. Ruriko, even without wearing makeup, you’re the best vendor girl. Hands down. A father and daughter were also watching, it was pretty nice of my favourite vendor girl to encourage her, no matter what conditions are thrown at you, keep going. In a way this was like metaphor for the team to keep going. And would you know it, the sun shone on the team. A nice, feel-good moment vignette. Nothing outstanding.
Don’ think too hard RurikoOverall Conclusion:
It wasn’t a bad episode, I think the first vignette has me smirking now, as there is a love competition heating up between Ruriko, Shimizu, Yamada over Murata. I’m still shipping Ruriko and Murata. Nothing really stood out for me in this episode, besides Yamada giving the thumbs up to Ruriko for giving a very dribbly beer.
Which girl are you rooting for to win Murata’s heart?

Madan no Ou to Vanadis Episode 06
The siege on Tatara citadel is going to plan, Elen is leading the charge. As the two start to battle one another, Tigre is reminded the stark difference between him and them. In terms of power and skill. The battle was a fierce one, but in the end it ended as a stalemate. But before either one could continue their fight, an assassin made his way to both maidens. Tigre killed him with a shot to the head. For his troubles, Mila deducted that he was Urs. And proceeded to give him a slap to the face. Tigre and Mila patched up their difference. Mila declared neutrality, thus ending the 80-year connection between her family and Thenardier.

Reign of the seven spell blades Episode 1: HP the anime
A month has passed since the battle in Olmutz, with Alsace having new allies in order to defend herself. So Tigre sets out west, in hopes of establishing a base of operations there. The march west took it’s time. As Elen and co rest up. She is trying to get Lim to pronounce her army’s name. Titta is proudly saying “the silver meteor storm”. Lim is not happy about this chastisement. Nor the name, for that matter. Tigre not wanting to get into this little debate, gets dragged in regardless, with Lim actually telling him to stick up for his opinions a lot more. Lim is steadily becoming a favourite of mine. Tigre is wanted for treason against the crown a so a warrant for his arrest is put out. His title as nobleman is to be stripped.
Point of interest:
And Alsace under the kings control. The Navaare are on the move. Both armies have taken up positions in the orange plains. Roland wielding the sword durandal leads the charge against the silver meteor storm. Elen had no choice but to engage with the strongest knight in all of Brune. Roland charges at Tigre, who narrowley avoids his sword. And fires an arrow upwards. Elen and Tigre are now fleeing. Roland gives chase to them, when his horse is killed. However the plan didn’t go as smoothly. Tigre was gravely injured. With him lying unconscious, and Elen stuck. Sofy comes to aid her. With Elen retreating, this marks a first defeat for Elen and her army.
This episode showed a more aggressive side to Elen. As she went up against Mila. And Tigre was shown as to why he had little chance of victory against Elen back in the beginning. We all see the most typical knight you can imagine. Roland. Maybe he is modeled after the famed knight in history?. Roland leads the order of Navaare. An elite order of knights. Thenardier manipulated the king in order to label Tigre as an insurgent. Hence why the elite order was sent out after him. This shows just how badly Thenardier wants him out of the way. The small clash with Roland and Sofy was intersting. As it shows that Sofy isn’t some clumsy, air head. And that she is more capable than she lets on.

The catcher in the ballpark Episode 04 review
Announcements and appreciations… cause for a case
Vignette 1: Soul announcer – This vignette is about the announcer chirpy banter about a certain player, as it lifts the mood of the fans in the stadium. After having trouble coming up with new material she ropes in Ruriko in to helping her give some support. Left me with a slight fuzzy feeling, with a dose of hmmm
Vignette 2: The suggestion box incident Pt 1 – A two-part mini arc of who has been leaving a 10-page Ruriko appreciations messages in the suggestion box, it’s up to her to find out who were leaving them, so she whittles down the suspects. An amusing first arc
Vignette 3: The suggestion box incident Pt 2 – The conclusion of the small mini arc – left me with a small warm smile and a small chuckle

Nagisa the soul announcer of the stadiumVignette one was about the stadium’s announcer Nagisa. For about 5 years she has been playful teasing the best player. Each giving some funny quips about him, the point is to get the fans invested into the players and teams. I get that she has run of out material to use, however, to run into my favourite girl Ruriko who doesn’t strike me as someone who can write funny quips, is confusing. I mean she showed support to Nagisa, when she was struggling. The funniest bit is when Ruriko held the door to prevent Nagisa’s announcement being cut off, apparently aware of Nagisa’s potential hidden feelings towards Nokogiriyama, the best player. For the most part, this vignette didn’t really do much for me. Got me a chuckle here and there, but not much else. A let down I’d say
Yeah, dude the announcer has a big crush on youVignettes 2 and 3 were small little mini detective arc. They were about people leaving feedback and this one is about my favourite girl Ruriko, just who is the culprit that were leaving 10 appreciation messages to our favourite vendor girl. The plot isn’t heavy nor makes you think hard, it shows that Ruriko is charmingly dense, she gives these hard stares to the regulars (hint) and how it was revealed is a letdown. The answers were pretty handed to me, not that the answers weren’t screaming at you in the face. The spoiler is that all the regulars were the ones to show appreciation to our favourite vendor girl. As she brightens up their day, regardless of who they are. The other interesting thing is that Murata is becoming more accustom in to going and being around people at the stadium, usually he is one that keeps to himself. However, he greatly starting to appreciate the place. The mini arc is okay I thought.
The source of the caseDetective Ruriko is watching you!!Overall Conclusion:
Not the best episode, the vignettes, they were pretty weak to be honest. The soul announcer is by far the weakest vignette of the three watched. The small mini arc was okay, its purpose did what I already had in mind, appreciating Ruriko, her personality is what makes the regulars day and make them comeback. I found it hilarious that Dennis Young in his English, calls her his goddess of baseball. Mind you this with a Japanese VA, so it had me chuckling

The catcher in the ballpark Episode 03 review
Goddess, mascots and rah! rah!
Vignette 1: The goddess of baseball – Hahaha, this vignette focused on a baseball player called Dennis Young, from America. He is trying to get scouted back to the states as he is having a hard time adjusting to the way Japan baseball is played. And he spots my favourite vendor girl Ruriko. Instantly being drawn to her. Had me laughing at times, on just how dopey this vignette is.
Vignette 2: The invisible mascot – hahahaha, this vignette had me smiling. It focused on the motorsun’s mascot the enigmatic great salamander Sun-Shiro. As the mascot goes around giving advice to players and even to other staff members, had a good feel to it
Vignette 3: Rah! Rah! Rah! – This episode has a really sweet vibe to it, Murata and Ruriko are back, each one supporting the other to succeed in their roles. Loved the teasing Ruriko does to poor Murata, had me laughing

Doing good Dennis! how youVignette one tells the story of how Dennis Young an American baseball player, who is struggling to adapt to the life and playstyle in Japan. Wants to go back to the states, however, from what I can gather, he has a rather abysmal record? since coming to Japan. Being generally uninterested in making an effort with his teammates, that changed when he saw our beauty gyru Ruriko. I just had to laugh at how he was fixated on her, making such mistakes, like getting caught out, batted out. The hecklers added the comedy to this vignette, heckling out Dennis for how bad of a performance he is having. Ruriko to Dennis is a focal point of inspiration, making him actually make the effort and that is really helpful to him in a way. I do think there might be some interest from him to her, so Murata has competition there. The sheer irony is and what could be a running joke amongst the hecklers and Ruriko, she is a good luck charm to the team.
Shocking!!Vignette two is an interesting one. This one focused on the mascot of the team, the silent Sun-shiro. It is never revealed as to who this person is, nor the gender. Sun-shiro went about helping a baseball player who was struggling with his form, via through a sketch pad. That’s how sun-shiro communicates with everyone. Not only did sun, help out, but is bilingual as well as they could communicate with Dennis in fluent English, making him feel involved with the team. Giving out advice to Yamada, who is thinking of her prince charming Murata, that it’s fine to ask a customer out. Or supporting Ruriko, who was struggling. The funniest thing is, she was contemplating of contacting her parents, when the advice given is reminiscent to what her mother would say, I do think it’s laying the groundwork that sun-shiro could be a lady underneath the costume, that’s just speculation on my part.
So how can you dance like?Vignette three is a sweet one. Ruriko is struggling to meet the quota of selling 150 cups. Whilst Murata is trying to enjoy his meal and watching the baseball game. I do love the teasing Ruriko does to Murata, jokingly asking for 700 yen when he never bought a beer. The sweetest part I thought is when a snobbish couple walked past the two of them, upsetting her, when Murata had the courage to speak out in her defence. Which had him get teased again by her. I really like the two chemistry they obviously are attracted but can’t really admit it. The overlap is that Murata went over to Yamada to get some chicken, when he saw how Ruriko doesn’t think she can meet the quota. How it ends, is not surprising. Enjoyed this vignette
Oh you tease Ruriko!Overall Conclusion:
Really enjoyed this episode. As it is confirmed that there will be overlaps with characters from previous vignettes or episodes. Telling a very feel-good story, with interactions being the main highlights. I do think they did a fairly good thing keeping Murata off from last episode, his meek personality can irritate some. I think the chemistry between Ruriko and Murata is something, the teasing is playful yet enjoyable.
Do you think Sun-shiro is a woman under that costume?
