Declaration of State of Local Emergency
ORDER
WHEREAS there is an active wildfire hazard within the jurisdiction of District of Squamish;
AND WHEREAS the wildfire poses an existing or imminent threat to people and property
within the areas known as Brackendale, Tantalus Road and Skyridge;
AND WHEREAS this wildfire emergency requires prompt coordination of action or special
regulation of persons or property to protect the health, safety or well-being of persons or
the safety of property or objects or sites of heritage value;
NOW THEREFORE:
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED pursuant to Section 95 (1) of the Emergency and Disaster
Management Act that a state of local emergency exists in the District of Squamish due to
Dryden Creek Wildfire and potential risks for the safety of the community.
As per Section 97 (1) of the Emergency and Disaster Management Act the state of local
emergency will remain in force for fourteen days, until June 24, 2025 (06/24/2025) at
midnight unless cancelled by District of Squamish or the Minister responsible. =
