Despite many successes in establishing #OpenGovernmentData and #DataGovernance practices in all branches and sectors of government, we are still facing three main challenges:

- Lack of central data strategy and strong leadership with vision #DatenStrategieBund
- A low general level of #dataliteracy, with more learning opportunities needed
- Interoperability and #FAIRdata Principles need further investment

Presentation of the Head of Staff at the Federal Statistical Office "Together strong for data governance Data governance is a key element of the digital transformation of the public sector. The Federal Statistical Office (FSO) is working with the administration to make data transparent, secure and efficient to use and exchange, so that it can be optimally utilised for various purposes. Successful initiatives such as Open Government Data and National Data Management highlight the potential of new governance structures. However, challenges remain: lack of strategies, limited resources and unclear roles. Cooperation and clear objectives are decisive for a successful future.
