After 14 years Vitaly Friedman returned to the #btconf Düsseldorf stage, where he spoke at the very first beyond tellerrand event. We have been through many adventures since then and I am happy that he was part of 2025's show.
Here is the video of his presentation titled “Inclusive Design Patterns: From Gen-Z To to Aging Audiences”.
Behind the scenes: Jam-Factory's Beyond Tellerrand 2025 Live Title Sequencing
Gavin Strange - aka Jam-Factory - writes about his fantastic live Title Sequencing at Beyond Tellerrand:
I've always wanted to do more with it, especially as I make my musical noodling a part of my on-stage talks now (…) This is it, this could be the project that finally takes the OP-Z + Unity + Visuals out of the hypothetical and into the practical for me (…)

Representing a creative festival can be a tricky thing, as the big variety of the speakers means there's a variety of styles and disciplines and aesthetics. I wanted to design something that had energy and fun and impact. Being born in '82 and starting my professional career in 2000 means that the early noughties aesthetic is a big part of my DNA, and I'm always trying to channel it. Back then, particularly digital / web design had real personality and expression, it was beautifully bonkers. I wanted to make a love letter to that era of chunky vectors, illegible type and visual overstimulation
Visual overstimulation, hell yes. 🙌 The work Gavin created and the live performance for the title sequence were definitely impressive and yet another highlight in the highlight ridden history of the Beyond Tellerrand Conference:
The photos by @florianziegler of #btconf Düsseldorf 2025 are online for a while already, but I wanted to say thanks once more and have written this little post about why I think Florian's photos are special. Thanks a lot, Florian, for creating memories! https://beyondtellerrand.com/blog/dusseldorf-2025-photos-by-florian-ziegler
