@s1m0n4 @catzilla
I was always #BackOfThePack as a run/walker. Still, I've gained SO much joy in my life from doing races! It's hard to describe all of the emotional connections but part of it was the camaraderie of being surrounded by 100s or even 1000s of other people in the same event. I loved seeing new sights on foot, travelling to new locations to do a race, meeting online & IRL friends at events, going out for good food/drinks to celebrate afterwards, wearing the tee or seeing the medal.

@ovid @carnage4life Learning to do something I’m genuinely bad at, that stays hard, has probably been as good for me as the actual exercise.

Here I am, old, overweight, and slow, and I can still lace up my shoes and get out there. I impress myself every time I do! And giving myself permission to go ahead and be the #backofthepack has been liberating.
