We took off on a miserable looking Monday, for a spin along the Beara Peninsula.

We trusted the lashing rain would stop, it did, & we were left with muggy winds & grey skies, but dry for the rest of the day.

Sea arch along the coast near Allihies. Looking back over the inlet towards Knockgour hidden beneath a blanket of cloud.

On the ridge line, where it slopes down, to the upper right, the remnants of the engine house of the mountain mine is just visible below the clouds.

Coastal gullies and sea arches stretch into the Atlantic, my friend M is partially visible above the nearest ridge, behind her the peaks of Eagle Hills and Gortaghig stretch out east to west.

My friend M, almost hidden amongst the leading lines of the cut and eroded rock stretching and rising up from the sea. Behind is the ridge climb left to right.

Light from the cloud

Light pours through a gap in the clouds, illuminating the waters between Sheep's Head and the Beara Peninsula.

Early sunrise over the bay.
The coastline is still in the dark.
On the opposite side of the bay the sky is dark orange over the hils. Between the orange and the blue sky is a black cloud. The water has horizontal golden stripes.

Second after I woke up this morning. Isn't that perfect because my circulation still was sleeping in my bed 😁 while my body was standing at the open window and taking these two shots.

Sitting on my bench there are the red roses and geraniums in frontand you look straight into the rising sun at the end of the bay. The first millimeters of the sun is visible and the first sunbeam over the water appeared.

The bay at later sunrise. It's a hazy morning, clouds are over the hills and after managing the thick clouds over the hills, the sun broke through. A golden ball throws its beam over the water of the bay. In front my terrace and green fields on the right side.

Have had a longer sleep this morning but I think I caught the most gorgeous moments of the sunrise. I love this flowing clouds which look like waterfalls.
