FAVOURITE FILMS OF 2024 continues with Dev Patel's directorial debut MONKEY MAN. It's a complex and emotional revenge flick, a love letter to the darker side of Mumbai and a pounding, violent martial arts action flick in the vein of John Wick. Dev Patel himself stars and is actually a well versed & trained martial artist. Structurally it plays more so as an art house action film, beautiful visuals and intense score by Australian composer Jed Kurzel.

Almost at the end of the year, so I'm going to post my FAVOURITE FILMS OF 2024, in no particular order... First up is Osgood Perkins slow burning psychological horror masterpiece LONGLEGS. Probably more widely notable for Nicholas Cage's character (who is awesome) but I loved it for the beautiful cinematography, the very deliberate framing and tracking shots. Wonderful.
