For the midweek session, I modelled this scene

For the midweek session, I made some shells

This week's activity was "increasing interval studies" where we made 1 minute, 5 minute, 10 minute, and 20 minute versions of the same model. I poked around with using the "skin" modifier to make this low poly lion (it makes terrible geometry, and I spent a lot of time during the 10 minute one cleaning that up, so I didn't end up dealing with that/working the form as much in the 20 minute version)

This week's prompt is "Rail." I took the weekend off and spent the midweek session working on an addon to speed up some Fossil Sweeper work. Nothing to share from me ^_^

For the midweek session, I stuck with the prompt and made this flag/banner

A low poly scene of a red banner with a black lightning bolt design on it, on an empty plain near a fallen tree. In the background lightning from looming clouds illuminates tall mountains as the moon peeks past

This week's prompt is "flag." I went off-prompt and did a quick sculpt of this little guy

The activity for this week just gone is "revisit an old project." On the weekend, I poked around with a little grease pencil animation I started ages ago (working on the arrow draw and camera management), and for the mid-week session, I worked on some Fossil Sweeper globe stuff

For the midweek session, I revisited my scene from the weekend and worked on improving lighting and readability of the dome.

I had wanted to give motion blur to the paint flecks along their individual direction of travel, but I couldn't come up with a nice way to do that that didn't involve rendering each frame individually.

This week's prompt is "skyscraper," so I made this scene of the sky being scraped clean. I painted two little paintings using Blender's texture paint mode, and used a mask to reveal the one underneath.

I got mixed up with last week's prompt of "tool," so it was nice to include a paint scraper here as well

A scene showing a painted domed ceiling with a cracked brown painting of a brown sky with an airplane seen between skyscrapers being removed, revealing a blue cloudy sky with a swallow. In the foreground on top of an out of focus ladder sits a paint scraper (definitely the wrong tool for this sort of job, but I suppose that's symbolic too)The painting of the cloudy sky with a welcome swallow flying right to left in the middle. A lot of the darker areas that give a sense of volume to the clouds are lost in the 3D render and easier to appreciate here. The skyscraper painting, with buildings of various height looming above. A jet plane leaving a trail flies across the centre from left to right. The buildings are relatively low detail compard to the other painting, something that paint cracks hide a little in the 3D render

For the midweek session, I made this starfish little diorama

A stylised low poly orthographic scene showing a large range, blue and red starfish surrounded by smaller single coloured starfish of varying sizes. The scene is framed on the left and right by seaweed, and across the top in an arch by scallop shells. Small rocks spread out along the ground in the foreground, and the background appears to also be a wall of rocks, limited to that same arch shape

This week's prompt is "starfish," so I made this buff starfish.

Starfish was also among the prompts for the first session when I started Blendsday back in February 2022 mastodon.social/@Cheeseness/10

For the midweek session, I made this picnic scene, featuring bits made by myself, Attitude, and Albarnie

A low poly scene depicting a picnic in a disarray, as a stream of ants descend upon a red and white checquered picnic blanket with fruit, sandwiches, and paper plates scattered everywhere from an upturned basket. A couple of bees have also found the scene and are investigating an orange. In the distance near the top of a hill near several trees is a park bench, with an anxious person standing on top, holding their head as they look back toward the picnic. Beyond them, another person is sprinting out of frame. In the foreground, a nearby bee extends her antennae toward the sceneAnother view of the same scene, giving more of an overview, multiple columns of ants branch out form the main line to investigate different parts of the picnic. Ants are gathered around a couple of slices of orange. In the foreground, a large number of ants are carrying a whole sandwich

This week's activity is "collaborative scene," where we pick a theme (we settled on "doll house") and spend some time making stuff in isolation that we then share and make our own scenes with. This one's got bits made by myself and Attitude

A scene showing a tiny model with two rooms, one a bedroom furnished with a bed, drawers, a lamp, and a TV. The other is a dining room/kitchen with four chairs seated around a table covered in empty dishes from a meal and a fruit bowl full of fruit.

For the midweek session, I optimised my Amiga monitor model a bit to decrease frame render times by a third, and added a mouse

This week's prompt is "Computer." I made this Amiga monitor (I've got a 360 turnaround animation coming, but it'll take a few more hours to render)

A lot poly model of an Amiga 1081 monitor with a red and white chequered ball bouncing out of the screen
