Simon lasted one week on the Radio 2 early show.
His successor as Blue Peter legend, Lindsey Russell, took no advice from Mike Read and has lasted absolutely years on Heart FM.

Nothing new, there have been regular pre-recorded studio episodes since about 2008. These days almost every episode's done from studio bits and pre-recorded inserts.
Is Blue Peter the same show as when we were young? No. Is it still trying to be relevant for children, to build imaginations and expand horizons? Very much so.

After five years, my beloved #bluepeter T-shirt has finally worn out, so I've just been off to letmicro.com (the place where Hungarians get custom stuff) to get a new one.
The design of the ship, complete with wood effect on the hull is my #Inkscape hand-tracing from a scan of Tony Hart's original drawing of the ship.
In honour of the occasion I also drew a better Tony Hart signature in Inkscape using Path Effects, instead of the one from the original pasteboard.

The second book is being attacked at the moment, with numerous dates being added in before I am happy to share. There is a vast amount of historical reference in this book, and a great number of puzzling inaccuracies which have been addressed. I fear that a complete analysis might take a little longer than anticipated though.
I'm not particularly happy sharing it in such an incomplete state, but most of the information hasn't been brought together anywhere.
