Against a deep blue sky covered with pink to almost purple clouds and an area burning in pink, red, orange and yellow above the horizon, the silhouettes of several large trees and the pointed roof of a house stand out.

The area above the horizon glows from left to right in shades of yellow-orange to pink. Three tree trunks, along with numerous thin, almost leafless branches, occupy most of the image. The sky is light blue near the horizon and deep blue at the top.

This time, the focus was on the area further to the right of the birch tree that also dominates this image, where the salmon-coloured to pink horizon predominates. Aurora's rose fingers are at work.

Two young specimens with nearly spherical, bright carmine-red caps and the typical white speckles grow on green moss among darker green grass in a spruce forest on a hazy but bright autumn afternoon. Someone has eaten a hemispherical hole into the cap of the left mushroom; it looks almost like half of a template for a kind of inverted golf ball with outward-curving spherical segments. I haven't removed some blades of grass, which hardly obstruct the view of the mushrooms anyway, because most of them serve as supports for numerous spiderwebs, arranged in several horizontal layers, that rise up behind and above the mushrooms. The trunk of a spruce tree on the right edge of the picture and some birch saplings with a few yellowish-green leaves are also incorporated into the spiders's fantastic artwork.

A seemingly double-leaf window reveals the treetops of the edge of a mixed forest, lit by the low morning sun. Two conifers of different sizes are flanked by beeches clad in gold, orange and yellow. Light gray lichens have taken root on sturdy side branches. Green foliage is also visible. A patch of white-grey sky can be seen.

In reality, the window is only a single-leaf window, opened just enough for its reflection to appear as part of a second leaf.

The bottom edge of the picture looks as if black velvet has been draped in waves beneath the window, but it's a down sleeping bag with a black polyester outer layer. I needed it to fix the window perpendicular to the frame. The window frame is white and not glossy black! Thanks to an exposure time of 1/200 s and an aperture of 1/16, everything appears dark except for the sunny forest. Therefore, the window is framed by darkness.
