I've been playing #FullMetalFuries, a co-op beat'em up rpg for #NintendoSwitch developed by the same people who did #RogueLegacy

It's actually amazing, it feels like #CastleCrashers but much more well balanced and with an emphasis on making everyone feel essential for victory. Good stuff.

I've started a replay of Castle Crashers. It's been a long time since I played it
➤Hand-drawn art from the newgrounds era
➤Beat em up with some rpg elements
➤The timing for combos feels really quick. You need to be hitting those buttons pronto
➤Enemies are pretty thicc right from the start. You tend to fight large groups of them too.
➤They also like to spam projectiles if they have them.
➤It starts simple enough, but the damage output from the enemies ramps up quick.
➤I completely forgot about the animal buddies.
➤The levels flow into each other, but it annoys me you don't get healed to full or can assign your stat points from leveling up this way. You need to exit to the map and reenter the level.
➤I'm ignoring magic completely. Maybe it's less clunky if you put more points into it.
➤You have an inventory. Being able to get some potions is nice. You also have a bow for ranged attacks.
➤Currently moving through the desert after riding on the ship.

Just a heads up on a really great #IndieGame set to debut next week, #BigHelmetHeroes from @ExaltedStudio and @plugindigital. Absolutely feeling some old-school #CastleCrashers vibes, plays well, and plenty of great beat-em-up silliness and chaos.

A Pixel Art Demake of Castle Crashers, a game by The Behemoth. The demake is based on one of the first levels of the game, with a Blue and Gray Knight fighting against a few Barbarians at the outside of a castle, facing a war. One Barbarian and the Blue Knight are in fighting stances with their weapons close to each other, while Gray Knight is hitting another Barbarian with a Sword in the air, in which the Barbarian fell down to the floor because of the hit, there's also a number 4 floating above them, showing off the damage the Gray Knight did to them. At the outsides of the castle, there's a trunk with probably more Barbarians inside it, along with multiple Barbarians and Knights being barely visible in the background, with one of them flying across the chaos of the war. There's some UI Icons at the top, showing off the health, mana, coins collected and if they have some items, of which Blue Knight does have (a potion specifically).

Played #CastleCrashers tonight with the kid and wife. God. Had forgotten how frantic the dang thing is.. sweating and often forgetting to breathe during every fight. Animals literally shitting everywhere. Like you ride a deer propelled by its own excrement in one particular section. Incredibly offbeat and colorful and a lot of fun. One of the few three player couch co-op games out there. Recommended.
