A Palestinian volunteer at the community center lost 7 family members in an Israeli raid on Gaza yesterday, as a shell was dropped on their home.An uncle, four aunts and two of their children.
As I tried to console him and offered my condolences, it felt empty, meaningless. These words and gestures you usually use when someones 90 year old grandparent dies cannot, not ever, be meaningful enough in this situation.
