#Corallorhiza mertensiana is an orchid that lives on nutrients passed to it by ectomycorrhizal fungi (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mycorrhi) it has in common with surrounding trees. Quite a lot of variation in flower form from what I saw.

A short hike up Mt Seymour the other day -
#Campanula lactiflora (blue bell-shaped flowers, non-native, sunny meadow)
#Castilleja miniata (greater #paintbrush, tuft of orange bracts, full sunlight)
#Chamaenerion angustifolium (#fireweed; spike of magenta flowers, a bee, and another pollinator, maybe a fly?, full sunlight)
#Corallorhiza mertensiana (Pacific #coralroot, magenta and green #orchid flower, very dark woods)
