So good news! I finally got far enough along to boil water out here. Bad news. I think my water filter water, just straight out of that was far better than this water I've managed to burn lol. It's safe though. I have safe water in great supply to drink forever now.
Upside I can now make my own safe drinking water thanks to the homemade filter and finally managing to boil a larger amount of water over a fire.
Downside I burnt it. It tastes like smoke and I had been cooking beans and rice in the pot so a hint of that as well. I kind of enjoy the flavor tbh
Anyway, check that off the tick box. between the new water catchment and this discovery of colonial era technology. I now have safe drinking water in infinite supply.
