Curl Journey :: Day 4

Wanted fresh curls for my nail appointment today (the last style did not hold even for a day). Decided to test the whole "getting a blow dryer is worth it" thing. Normally I'd need 3-5 hours between shower and "presentable" hair due to air drying.

Today's look? 1hr total, including the shower!

WAY happier with these results than the other day.

I did two primary things differently. I used more product and I didn't plop as long. I'm still getting way more definition up top than at the ends, and my ends aren't that damaged at all. So I'm suspecting they may need more moisture.

Now I really gotta work on "day 2" hair. Sleeping with it wild and curly doesn't seem to be working for me. Might need to embrace "bonnet life".

Products:
LUS shampoo, conditioner, gel and leave in. Plus the plop towel, comb and denman.
Dyson Supersponic with the diffuser

Curl Journey :: Day 1

Okay, so I've known I have curly hair for... maybe 10 years? A little less than that I think. This is not so wild except for the fact that I am in my 40s, lol. A pretty common experience actually, I've come to learn.

I have decided THIS is the year I actually learn how to take care of my hair. And have also decided to document it: For Scienceā„¢ (because remember kids, the difference between science and screwing around is writing it down)

Products Used: LUS Shampoo and Deep Conditioner. As well as the Leave-In and Irish Sea Moss Gel.

Leave in first, then the gel. Each was applied using prayer hands, then raked through, brushed with a denman and then a wide tooth comb (both lus).

After scrunching it through on very wet hair, plopped using a lus towel and let dry for ~20 min.

Finally, diffused (first time using a diffuser) with a Dyson Supersonic until it was pretty dry. Started upside down, then moved to side to side. Probably could have done upside down longer to get the roots better.

Once fully dry gave it a once-over with Olaplex oil.
