Then: free tickets about the only way I'll go to the Blue Note, but late Sunday set was comfortably half-full which made it semi-enjoyable (still the worst room in town). DJ Logic with killer band including Christian McBride (on electric), Robert Randolph (still electric) and a host of other Wetlands-era groove merchants. Definitely felt like the old days in Tribeca. Old days that are getting older and older.

Before becoming part of #MedeskiMartinWood, #BillyMartin was part of the #NYC #Brazilian scene in the 1980s. He performed regularly with Pe De Boi, Batucada and several #BobMoses bands for over a decade. Most notably he has developed as a percussionist, and has collaborated with artists such as #JohnZorn, #DJLogic, #DaveBurrell and #MihoHatori. H started his own record label, #AmuletRecords.
