đź“–Exodus 23:25
-
The blessed soul is the one who trusts in Almighty God alone.
Live a pleasing life to your loving God.
Lord God will strengthen you to be prosperous.
Lord Almighty will bless you abundantly when you depend on Him alone.
Think about how you can deepen your trust in God and worship Him through your actions today.
Praise and worship brings you His blessing.
Let your dependency on Him be the source of your strength and peace throughout the day.

Llewelyn John Evans, Presbyterian, on Jesus’ reminder that “the poor will always be with you.” Not only the poor, but the weak, suffering, and heavy laden. To surrender ourselves to their service makes us stronger and godlier.

Surrender. Serving the weak. Wouldn’t this set of red flags with a lot of people? Doesn’t godliness, per se, set off red flags?

How can you surrender yourself to service of those who are struggling?

"The poor we have always with us, and so the weak, the suffering, the struggling, the heavy laden, we have always with us. The more we feel for them and with them, the more lovingly and absolutely we surrender ourselves to their service - the stronger shall we be, the gentler, the purer, the more helpful, more godlike shall we grow."

Charles Spurgeon, particular Baptist, Micah chapter 6. He affirms that there is such a thing as “class sins”, and these are the most grievous. These sins are prevalent, occurring in “many a place”, and include paying workers far less than the “value to masters”. He says many “great” men only look upon fellows as stepping-stones to wealth.

Is this rhetoric allowed for preachers?

How do you use others as stepping stones?
