#Dellinger, a Senate-confirmed appointee of President #Biden, was fired in a short email from the #Trump WH in Feb. He sued the admin to stop his ouster, saying it violated a #law barring the president from removing him except for “inefficiency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance in office.” His 5-year term was supposed to last until 2029.

The panel of 3 judges from the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit said the govt had met the “stringent requirements” for securing a stay while the court considers the #Trump admin’s appeal in the case.

The brief order had no noted dissents from the judges, who were appointed by presidents from both parties. It said a full opinion would be forthcoming.

A federal appeals court on Wed allowed Trump to temporarily remove the head of an #independent watchdog agency who was investigating the admin’s #MassFirings of probationary #FederalWorkers.

In a 2-pg order, the court granted the Trump admin’s request to stay a lower court ruling that blocked Trump from summarily firing #Dellinger, head of the Office of #SpecialCounsel.
