Taste the wind,
cast over landscapes
torn and scored
by the talons
of a vulture
rending granite
into dust
while silent screams
in jagged shards
flow through the bleakness
in your mind.

Spread your arms,
fingers stretched
and cry shrill
like nails
on a chalkboard
head back and proud
then leap
higher than a house
to soar and bank
through granite dust
to the stars beyond.
