Robert Colquhoun (1914 – 1962) was a Scottish painter and set designer . At the Glasgow School of Art he met Robert MacBryde with whom he established a lifelong relationship becoming known as "the two Roberts".

John Sheahan was born on 19 May 1939 in Dublin. He is an Irish musician and composer and the last surviving member of the definitive five-member line-up of The Dubliners. He joined The Dubliners in 1964 and played with them until 2012 when The Dubliners' name was retired following the death of founding member Barney McKenna.

Ciarán Bourke died on 10 May 1988. He was one of the original founding members of The Dubliners. He played tin whistle, mouth organ and guitar, as well as singing. Ciarán was responsible for bringing a Gaeilge element to The Dubliners’ music with songs such as “Peggy Lettermore” and “Sé Fáth Mo Bhuartha” being performed as Gaeilge.

On 17 November 1940 Luke Kelly (Lúcás Ó Ceallaigh) was born in Sheriff Street, Dublin. His father, also named Luke, was shot and severely wounded as a child by British soldiers from the King's Own Scottish Borderers during the 1914 Bachelor's Walk massacre. Luke Óg went on to be a key member of the Dubliners.
