After a week of posting on IG/FB specific reasons for quitting commercial social media and then articulating options to replace plus my criteria for why I recommend Mastodon as a responsible replacement, I am now moving on to creating an online starter pack for how to join, use, and enjoy Mastodon. I know the (social media) world will heal itself now that Facebook temporarily bans the accounts of people like my Father in Law who posts nothing but family related things. Apparently he logged on today to a lock-out notice.
He spent hours getting it unlocked.
Most people would probably just create a new account.
