Did you know the Court of Auditors is also on #Mastodon? Go say hello! @EUauditors 💜

The European Court of Auditors (ECA) was made a full EU institution by the TEU, under Article 13 TEU, and Articles 285-287 TFEU. As the name suggests, it audits the expenditure of the other institutions for legality and sound financial management.

Shoutout to everyone who's been taking part in my daily #EPSOprep question polls. I clearly need to make these harder.
Study materials for the #EPSO exams can be found here: eu-careers.europa.eu/en/gradua

From which resource should I create questions next?

If you selected the European Court of Human rights here, you were correct. :europe: 💜
The ECHR and its court are part of the Council of Europe, which has 46 member states, the UK, and Turkey. All 27 EU Member States are also part of the Council of Europe.
Russia ceased to be party to the ECHR on 16 September 2022, for probably obvious reasons. #SlavaUkraini

If you picked Winston Churchill on this one you were correct. He said this in a famous speech at a university in Zürich, although apparently he never intended for the UK to be part of the United States of Europe.
Altiero Spinelli is also a famous European federalist.
And here is one of the quotes that Schuman is generally famous for:
“Europe will not be made all at once, or according to a single plan.”
Schuman declaration: 9 May 1950

Looks like most of you were right, it’s the court!🇪🇺 it’s generally the court that gets to interpret laws, and then the law students get to study that case law. Fun! One of my favourite EU Cases is Case C-120/78, popularly known as Cassis de Dijon.
Stay tuned for more #EPSOprep questions that I disguise as polls!

And why am I bringing this to Mastodon?
Well, #Facebook groups are still a major way for people who are studying for the #EPSO to connect, share study tips, help eachother ...and do lots of complaining...
In any case, why can't the Fediverse fill that space?
So I plan to blog about it as I study: to promote the EU here, and to draw more EU nerds to Mastodon, who may hear that EU nerds are sharing real cool study tips over on the Fediverse...

This year, an EU general knowledge test will be a part of the #EPSO examinations.
Do I really think I stand a chance at being in the top-scorers of thousands of people who will apply? Not really. But I do think I could have a great deal of fun studying.
I love EU history and general knowledge, like, did you know the first president of the directly elected European Parliament was a woman called Simone Veil, a Holocaust survivor?
#EPSOprep is starting already

Looking for the EU nerds out here! ✨ :europe:
Have you heard that the first generalist concours in many years launches this week? #EPSO I'm getting geared up to start studying, and want to share little fun facts about the EU with #EPSOprep
