"STORIES WE TELL — ARMINVANBUUREN EDITION
In March of 2003, Armin van Buuren was playing at The Mayan in downtown Los Angeles. At the time, Josh and I had finished a track called As The Rush Comes under our Motorcycle alias and were sending it to labels.
The response was mostly the same.
No.
Even our own manager wasn’t convinced. We honestly thought the track might never come out. I was still living in LA then, so I bought a ticket to the show and went with a CDR in my pocket. I made sure my phone number was clearly written on the label.
Through some friends I managed to get on stage and into the DJ booth. I handed Armin the disc and said, “Please listen to this. I think you’re really going to love it.”
He smiled politely and dropped it into his record bag.
That was it.
The next morning at 7:30am my Motorola flip phone rang. It was Armin.
He said, “I listened to the CD you gave me last night. Let’s meet for coffee.”
We met at Urth Caffé in LA, and sitting across from me he said something I’ll never forget:
“I don’t know if you realize this, but you and Josh just made the song of the year. And by the way, I just started a label called Armada, and I want to sign it and do a remix.”
And just like that, everything changed."
I tak na swiatlo dzienne wyszedl jeden z najwazniejszych utworow #trance'owych minionych 25 lat 🤩
