This fast is not directed at political leaders, but to the people - to Gazans and to the hostages. It is a way to say and embody:

“We see you. We will not look away. We unite our thoughts, hearts, bodies, and actions with you. We will not stop until you are safe and free.”

Fasting is also a spiritual and symbolic ritual that many religions practice as a form of reflection and self examination. We invite all people of conscience to join us for this sacred act. To say loud and clear: “We refuse to continue as usual while starvation is being used to destroy an entire people.”
