Bis vor knapp acht Jahren gehörten Taylor Ramos‘ und Tony Zhous Video-Essays unter dem Banner ihres Youtube-Kanals Every Frame a Painting zu dem Besten, was das Genre zu bieten hatte. Dann war Schluss.
Every Frame a Painting was a series of video essays about film form, made from April 2014 to September 2016, by Taylor Ramos and Tony Zhou. We officially announced the end of the channel in December 2017. Nothing sinister, we just felt it was time.
Zum Glück habe ich mein Abo aber nie beendet. Denn jetzt ist aus dem Nichts heraus eine Ankündigung gedroppt: Ramos und Zhou haben einen neuen Kurzfilm namens THE SECOND gedreht, der am 20. Juli beim Fantasia International Film Festival in Toronto Premiere feiern wird. Den Weg dahin soll eine Reihe neuer Essays ebnen. Hype!
